Well, we can all take a collective sigh of relief. Jack Curry reported that Brian Cashman believes the Yankees have "enough to get in the playoffs" and that the Yankees will not "do anything stupid."
More encouraging, he specifically mentioned Jesus Montero, Manny Banuelos, Dellin Betances and Austin Romine as players that he has "no inclination to move."
I'm very happy to hear this, especially since this summer's market is exceptionally weak when considering impact talent. There would be no excuse to trade a talent like Montero, Banuelos, Betances, or Romine for anyone currently available in this market.
Yankees GM Brian Cashman is monitoring the trade market, but prices are steep, so he won't necessarily make a move. Cashman told Jack Curry of the YES Network that he won't do anything "stupid," partly because it appears that the 55-37 Yankees are October-bound once again.
Thank you, Brian Cashman. Keep the prospects until they're ready to make an impact in the Bronx or until you find a move that makes sense.
