Posada still in the lineup I see

A-Rod has never hit Pineiro well in the past- hope that changes a little bit today. If he could go on one of his HR streaks, now is a good time (with BOS coming in).

Posada has been hitting the ball hard from what I’ve seen lately. Just bad placement.

Hoosiers is the best sports movie of all time

Bull Durham is fun and the ladies love Kevin (and Susan Sarandon being in control)
Remember the Titans is also great but really not a sports movie, rather one about race relations

And apparently he was listening. Long flyout to the wall in left field. He’s inches away from having ~10 home runs.

by Lord Duggan on Jun 5, 2011 3:12 PM EDT up reply actions

Nah

Every report says that he’s really bored in AAA right now. He’s always been more of a second half hitter anyways, and like Duggan said he’s hit quite a few doubles that may have been home runs in later months.

And remember, he worked far more on his catching during the offseason and into spring training this year than he did on working on his swing, so maybe taking less swings this year up to this point has gotten him off to a slow start power-wise.

Montero’s offense isn’t something to worry about. I’m more worried that the Yankees FO is stupid enough to keep him in the minor leagues when Martin is playing hurt and Posada can’t hit.

Does that save Nova for the Cleveland series? Or the Rangers? Because if you don’t trust Nova against the Red Sox, why would you trust him against those other two teams? I think you could make the case that a game against the Red Sox is more important than a non-divisional game. If we lose to the Sox, we lose a full game in the standings. If we lose to the Rangers, we lose half a game.

Before I say anything, I must say I despise the Boston Red Sox and Jonathan Papelbon.

That being said, Tony Randazzo is more at fault than Papelbon for what happened in the 9th inning of the Red Sox A’s game yesterday. An umpires job is to try to avoid confrontations between anyone on the field, not start them.

Umpires used to just call the games, now they’re just blind “show-boaters” for lack of a better term. I don’t even think show boaters is the right term at all, anyone care to help?

That was bad by Chara

very bad. Was a team effort to be bad in that last play. Ference gets the assist, Thomas too far out, Chara was beat.

Chara wasn’t beat, he didn’t give an effort. He forfeited.

I don't know

But she took the time to make calculations, so her opinion is entitled to some weight.

A fan at the Dodgers-Reds game just made a brilliant one-handed barehand catch

He prevented it from hitting his daughter, and he did not spill the beverage in his other hand. Then he just sat down like he’d been there before.
