Yankees 5, Brewers 0: On a Roll with CC

The Yankees scored early, and ace CC Sabathia made it stand up.

In the first inning, Robinson Cano drove in Brett Gardner and Nick Swisher with a double. In the third, Mark Teixeira's solo homer was followed by an RBI single from Francisco Cervelli.

It'd be easy to look over the boxscore and think that Sabathia cruised through the dangerous Brewers lineup. It wasn't that easy for the big man; his first 1-2-3 inning didn't come until the fourth. Sabathia allowed baserunners every inning except the fourth and fifth.

Sabathia left in the eighth with 2 outs and a man on first, having thrown 118 pitches. Boone Logan recorded the third out without burning down the Stadium.

The reborn Randy Wolf was just about as good as the Brewers could ask for, too. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 4 runs on 7 hits. The Yankees had every reason to hope for more runs out of the offense, but Wolf got the big out when he needed it time and again.
