The pitching matchup heavily favors Cincinnati, as Cueto is having an ace-type season. Cueto has been scratched in favor of Travis Wood. The southpaw has never faced the Yankees, and the only Yankee to ever see him is Chris Dickerson, who did so last year as a Brewer.

Nova will have to be very careful with two hitters: reigning MVP Joey Votto and rightfielder Jay Bruce.

The gamethread will appear at 7 p.m.

NYY: Swish, Grandy, Tex, A-Rod, Cano, Russ, Andruw, Wardo, Nova

CIN: Stubbs, Phillips, Votto, Bruce, Rolen, Heisey, Hanigan, Janish, Wood

Jones starting over GGBG, again.

(insert expletive laden tirade here)

I’d say that binder should be burned, but it’s probably easier to escape Alcatraz than get to that damn binder.

Ask the Mythbusters to do it

They managed to escape Alcatraz; maybe they could get to the Binder, too

I doubt if even they could.

It’s probably guarded by motion sensors and heat detecting security cameras with a lazer grid, and only Girardi has the code to shut off the system, and that’s just beginning the security measures. The president may not be as secure as that Binder.

I doubt if Chuck Norris could infiltrate the security measures around the mystical Binder.

Much less Jack Bauer.

A southpaw who has never faced the Yankees

I’ll guess we’re going to struggle to score runs tonight. The Reds must have scratched Cueto knowing all they have to do is throw at us any scrub we’ve never faced to attain success.

I bet it's good to be playing again, huh?

A shame the replicators in Star Trek haven't been invented yet

Then you could just say. Tea. Testicles. Hot. and you’d have your tea!

How about shifting Gardy to center and giving Granderson a day off against a lefty?

Grandy hasn’t had a day off in forever- it wouldn’t be the worst thing for him. If they have to play Jones, then at least do it while giving a rest day to one of the other outfielders. Why is it ALWAYS GARDNER?

I’d much prefer Jones never play at all and Dickerson get the playing time if somebody needs a day off, but that isn’t ever happening.

Uhhhhhh

Granderson can’t hit lefties either. Let’s get with the program

Jones is the lefty specialist outfielder. His stats show it

Crack is awesome, isn’t it?

Unless you're a pitcher or Gustavo Molina, kindly SWING THE BAT and ignore the Binder's bunt signal.
