Player-By-Player Analysis
I am going to Look through the Yankees Starting Line-up.
Catcher- Russell Martin- BA- .232 OBP- .338 Martin has been strugling at late. His bat has been slow, but he just came off a back injury. Martin is a excellent fielding cather. I think he is a better defensive cather than Posadsa was in his prime.
DH- Jorge Posada- Argueably the hottest Yankee right now. After the May uproar with the whole batting 9th situation. He is batting .226 and his bat is coming around. If he keeps this up he will probabily move up to 6th in the order.
1st Base- Mark Teixeria - He is batting .252 and he is Tied for 2nd for most Homeruns. He has been hot since March 31st. He bat hasn't stopped. Although his adverage dosen't show it, he has a hot hitter this year.
2nd Base- Robinson Cano- He has also been pretty hot this year. Batting .281 with 12 HR's and 41 RBI. A very Under-rated fielder and a great guy. He is a possible MVP canidate this year. He also should be recieving another Gold Glove Award this year.
Short Stop #2 Derek Jeter #2- Closing in on 3,000 hits, with only 8 more to go. He has been very hot of late but will probabily slow down now that he is close to a milestone. When he broke the Yankee Hit record he had 3 straight games with no hits when he needed 1 more. He is batting .259 and he has 2 HR's and only 20 RBI. Good luck to Derek on his quest to 3,000 hits!
3rd Base- Alex Rodriguez- He is batting .288 with 13 HR's and 40 RBI. He is suprizingly tied on the Yankees with 13 doubles with Robinson Cano. A-Rod is only 4 HomeRuns away from Ken Griffy Jr. on the all time Home Run Leader list. He leads the whole MLB with the most Home Runs in his carrer (only active players) next on the list would be Jime Thome. He is only 136 Home Runs away from Breaking the all-time home runs record. If he plays until he is 40 years old he will need to adverage 29 homeruns a year to break the record.
Left Field- Brett Gardner - Gardner is red hot of late. Yesturday he was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and 1 triple, with 2 runs and an RBI. He is a great defensive Outfielder and he has an very under-rated arm. His baserunning has been a problem though with his Stolen Base success rate at only 55%. He has 13 Stolen Bases and he has been caught stealing 9 times. Gardner is a great player.
Center Fielder- Curtis Granderson- Another great defensive player and a great bat. He is batting .279 and has 20 HR's and 47 RBI. He is 2nd in the MLB with HR's beghind Jose Bautista with only 1 more HR.
Right Field- Nick Swisher- Bat has been slow all season. He is batting .225 with only 5 HR's and 27 RBI. Swisher Batting Adverage with RISP is .890 so he is getting it done with runners on. I'd say put Dickerson in for the Rangers series and give Swisher some time.

What about Cano's defense this year makes you think he's worthy of a Gold Glove?

Cano looks like he’s fielding with a Gold Glove this season
And lol at replacing Swisher with Dickerson. The obsession (and delusion) surrounding Dickerson is baffling.

Spellcheck
You needz it.
Unless you're a pitcher or Gustavo Molina, kindly SWING THE BAT and ignore the Binder's bunt signal.
He’ll be the frontrunner because of Gold Glove tenure, that’s for sure.

He’s already the second-highest vote getter for the AL because of his name. So you’re 100% correct.

If he only played 21 games in the field, Rafael Palmeiro style…

Poor Tino was so robbed that year.
What a crock.

Tino was robbed a lot when it came to gold gloves
But the guy I felt the worst for was Lee Stevens who actually played 1st for the Rangers that year. Talk about a smack in the face. The voters didn’t even know he existed.

Nick Swisher is hitting .180 with RISP, not .890. I have no idea where you got that information from.

You go through The Sporting News for the last 100 years, and you will find two things are always true. You never have enough pitching, and nobody ever made money.

He’s using Adverage, not average. Must be a stat he came up with!

I've been wondering what the hell an "adverage" is
Is that when you display a batter’s average in a little box with a product logo around it?
It's a new designer stat
It’s a complex formula but basically you take batting average and then you change it so it supports whatever argument you’re trying to make.
