Line-up
My ideal line-up:
1) Brett Gardner, LF
2) Nick Swisher, RF
3) Robinson Cano, 2B
4) Alex Rodriguez, 3B
5) Mark Teixeira, 1B
6) Jorge Posada, DH
7) Curtis Granderson, CF
8) Russell Matin, C
9) Derek Jeter, SS
EXPLANATION-
Gardner is your ideal lead-off hitter: he is fast, sees a lot of pitches, a good contact hitter, and gets on base a lot
Swisher also sees a lot of pitches and gets on base a lot for your power guys coming up
I feel your best hitter should bat third so Robbie Cano is your guy
The big power bats should hit 4th and 5th, hence A-Rod and Tex
6-8 werent really changed so they dont need an explanation
Jeter is not a leadoff hitter. He never takes a lot of pitches and in this stage if his career, he is only around a .270 hitter- not good enough for a leadoff guy with a limited amount of speed. He is DEFINATELY not a 2-hole hitter. It seems like every ball he hits is a weak grounder to 2nd* so why always have him eliminate GGBG w/ a DP. So, use Girardi's theory of the 9th batter being your "2nd leadoff guy" and just limit Jeter's PA's
*I could have gotten the stats for his grounders but I am to lazy. If anyone knows them or wants to take the time and research them, leave them in the comments

So, you punish Jeter for his poor hitting, but GGBG gets a pass?
Speed is worthless when it’s sitting on the bench because it can’t get on base
Who's more likely to improve?
a rising 26(?) year old or a declining 37 year old
Why do you say he's rising?
How many years has he been in the minors vs. the majors?
And do you just keep him in the lineup forever because he had a decent year last year, ignoring the results this year?
Jeter is terrible right now, but he’s better than GGBG, who is god-awful at the moment.
right now Grandy is probably out best lead off option
But with his skill set he an bat anywhere in our line up.
Right now, Granderson looks like a better choice at #2 than Swish.

Based on current performance, I would go:
1. Granderson
2. Martin
3. Teixeira
4. Rodriguez
5. Cano
6. Posada
7. Swisher
8. Jeter
9. Gardner
I saw a guy in the subway holding a pamphlet that said Jesus was coming on May 12, 2011. I don't think it will be that early, he would still qualify as a super two, so they need to wait until June to delay his arbitration clock.
I miss the game last night due to Easter. So I had to watch it on the 4-Letter Network AKA The Red Sox Left Nut Holder’s sorry for that i just hate ESPN. Every hit they Showed Jeter Hit a little Chopper to third. Did he have hits to the outfield? I know he went 4-6 but to m point im tried of them saying everything about him. His hits, ground outs, and Line drives. When Irchio (spelling)lead the league in hits and it was so and so infield hits they made him look like ty cobb. A hit is a hit in my book but Jeter needs to be batting 8th.

Yes he had 4 hits, and yes they were all grounders
Two infield hits, one sharp grounder up the line that went for a double.
Here's the thing about dropping Jeter...
The media frenzy that it would cause would be so tedious and such a distraction that I don’t think it’s worth doing in the middle of a season. If Jeter has another sub-.750 OPS season this year, then you drop him in the order next spring training when answering endless questions about it for weeks on end doesn’t make the regular season a chore for the rest of the team.

I don't see the difference
between answering questions for dropping him in the order, and answering questions for not dropping him
GGBG first?
He’s struggling more than Jeter. What I’d like to see is:
Jeter
Granderson
Tex
A-Rod
Cano
Martin
Posada
Swish
Gardner
Curtis has been hot msot of the year
mmmmm.... delicious
