Skipping the Rookies

I don't particularly mind that Joe Girardi went to a starter on his throw day in the 10th inning last night.

But I suspect that Hector Noesi and Lance Pendleton should mind.

Pendleton hasn't pitched since looking brilliant in 3 innings of work in his April 15 major league debut. Noesi, ostensibly call up to be the long man on April 13, hasn't pitched at all.

Maybe they were both suffering from "flu-like symptoms" that kept them from doing the one thing they're on the roster to do, but more likely, Ivan Nova found Sergio Mitre's stock of dirty photos involving Girardi and Brian Cashman, and so in 2011 it will be Nova pitching at every opportunity.
