- According to Ken Rosenthal, the Indians have kicked the tires on Nick Swisher. I doubt anything happens as the Yankees have no in-house replacement for Swisher and the Indians don't really have anything the Yankees need.
- Javier Vazquez may be back in 2012 after all.
- Multiple sources are reporting that Scott Boras is seeking a 10-year contract for Prince Fielder. The Mariners, Nationals, Orioles, Rangers, and Blue Jays all appear to have legitimate interest, albeit not for 10 years. Which leads us to our question of the night:

That list on ESPN has Joe Saunders, Javier Vazquez, and Paul Maholm as three of the top five available starting pitchers (to go along with Oswalt and Kuroda) but no Edwin Jackson. In what universe is Joe Saunders (or any of those three, really) a better pitcher than Edwin Jackson?

CC was under 300 when he started the season after spending the off seaon losing weight
but he was back to 300ish at the end of the season.

He's durable now
but as he ages, his weight might cause wear and tear on his body. Fielder is at CC wieght but 8 inches shorter and plays every day rather every 5 days.
