A few words about this list. I went back to my original rule about no steroids. That is how I started and I was not the only person who felt that way. We were outnumbered but I went back to my gut feeling about this list. There were only 2 player that were even an issue one was A-Rod and the 2nd one was Andy Pettite. A-Rod would have made it based on his stats Andy would not have made the top 5 man rotation anyway. I
The Manager, Bench Coach, 3rd Base Coach, and 1st Base Coach I used managers who had the most World Series and Pennants as managers.
Pitching Coach, Hitting Instructor, and Bullpen Coach was the most World Series and Pennants at that particular coaching position
Also it was alot of give and take. Not all the players I thought should start or backup wound up being where I thought they would be. Yogi over Dickey, Nettles over Rolfe, Cano over Dugan, and never mind the starting 5 pitchers. I really believe this is the list.
This list has a Yankee player in all their eras. It is a true representative of their history and tradition.

If we had that roster in the postseason
i think we would win every game and win by atleast 5 runs.

Yankees>Rest of MLB
They Finally called up Baby Jesus
I'm sorry
I know you have your opinions, but any attempts at the Yankees All-Time roster that doesn’t include Alex Rodriguez I simply can’t take seriously. He was so far and away better than Nettles and Rolfe it’s ridiculous. And because he’s not on there, it’s not the best 25 that have played for the Yankees.
Let us all congratulate the Boston Red Sox for becoming the first World Champions in the history of sports to NOT make the postseason! Thats not easy to do!
Here is my point
If we had a commissioner with some balls all the players taking and steroids/HGH and caught would have bee would have all been banned like Shoeless Joe Jackson and Pete Rose.
They were caught cheating. We have a list of 25 men. A number of Yankee Hall of Famers didn’t even make this list. Why should a player who cheats. Hank Aaron as far as I am concerned is the homerun king not Bonds or in the future A-Rod.
We come from different backgrounds. I was taught there is right and wrong and when your caught doing something wrong there are concequences to your actions. He was caught outright cheating, so were many other players they should pay for those actions. Whether or not you agree with that that is your opinion, maybe this is my way of showing my disgust.
I do respect your opinion. I do not agree with it but this was the way I feel. Many Yankee fans do not like A-Rod either. But it had nothing to do with like or dislike (I hate him anyway), it us about doing the right thing. If Pettite deserved to be in the top 5 rotation I also would have left him off. To me they cheated.
Wow
What a team. It would probably win a few games. Maybe even beat the best team ever, the ’11 Red Sux.
"Unpleasant Internet Dude"
great team...
personally, I would have had Reggie Jackson in the outfield and moved Ruth to DH…
In Pat we Trust
"Sorry if everyone thought we were going to go 82-0" - Dwyane Wade
"A nickel ain't worth a dime anymore." - Yogi Berra
Reggie
Reggie only played 5 seasons. He would have never made it.

I lover Bernie as much as anyone, but he didn't have more at bats in 3 seasons as DH
than Baylor did in any one of his 3. Statistically, this selection defies logic and is full of sentimentality. Maybe Baylor simply isn’t recalled by many people on this site. If you to retrosheet.org and look over his stats as everyday DH with the Yanks from 83-85 you’ll see Bernie can’t possibly be the choice, both from a longevity standpoint as well as a production standpoint. That’s just my educated opinion. Someone comment please.
Don, Bernie & DH
Don Baylor had a nice few years as a Yankee DH, but did not play long enough for the Yankees.
For the DH I ranked all Yankees that did not make the cut for either starting or back ups. The cut off was minimum 3,000 ABs.I felt that would give all Yankees 1 last chance to make the team. Bernie just beat out Bob Meusel for that last spot. It had nothing to do with Yankees who played DH, anybody not a pitcher was ranked who had 3,000 ABs as a Yankee and Bernie made the cut.
