Missing out on some solid hours of sleep for this game. Don’t let me down, Yanks!

LETS GO AJ

Lord, protect us from your servant, A.J. Burnett.

Protect us from his fastball command,

Protect us from his 59 feet curve balls,

And give strength to that new tattoo that is not helping at all.

AJ

can a great start today turn AJ around for the remainder of the year and maybe the rest of his contract?

He's not a pitcher who should be able to do well against this lineup

The offense needs to step up today. Getting some runs on the board and giving AJ a cushion could be big.

Also...AJ seemingly....seemingly ... stacks up well against the Tigers as

a predominantly right hand hitting team.

He has good numbers against the Tigers best hitters

Hopefully that holds up. Both Miggy and V-Mart have struggled against him in the past. But none of that matters if he can’t locate so he needs to have control to at least some degree.

2011 AJ Burnett: 1.1 WAR
2011 Rick Porcello: 1.0 WAR

lots of ground balls from aj...

i’m thinking that’s a good sign—as opposed to ground balls FROM aj (the PB and WP variety)… i’m guessing he was pitching around/away from delmon young (as opposed to what sori did last night), which is not so terrible…
