Yankees All-Time Roster: Right Field

Due to the substantial number of outfielders and the job of separating the players by position I am going to leave you the option of choosing all of the candidates in the poll. I will do this for each outfield position. Remember, get the position in the outfield right!

Please read rules after the jump.

Shouldn't there be a service minimum for this thing?

Really, the options are Ruth, O’Neill, Jackson, and Maris. And Dave Winfield, who played twice as many games in RF as LF as a Yankee (seriously…700+ to 350) should be in this poll.

Another interesting wrinkle: Babe Ruth played nearly as many games in LF as RF.

Of course, a poll with Babe Ruth on it only has one choice…unless Cervelli is also included.

RUTH as DH

This way you can have both Mantle (RF) and DiMaggio (CF). I choose Rickey for LF with Winfield as backup. Of course, if no DH, then Rickey odd man out. Pretty good bench with him and Winny though.

Pujols is the best hitter in the game today, and in terms of OPS and OPS+, he’s never matched in a single season what Ruth did over his entire career. That’s just silly.
