Yankees All-Time Roster: Center Field
Due to the substantial number of outfielders and the job of separating the players by position I am going to leave you the option of choosing all of the candidates in the poll. I will do this for each outfield position. Remember, get the position in the outfield right!
Please read rules after the jump.
Top vote getter makes the roster as a starter, no others are guaranteed a spot.

He sold Mr. Coffee machines
Also had some sort of a hitting streak.
There was also this other guy named Mickey Mantle

YANKEE ALL TIME CENTER FIELDER
Mickey Mantle before his knees gave out. Tremendous speed and unlimited power for a center fielder. Although Di maggio was very good…I’ll take THE MICK in center and batting cleanup in an all time great Yankee team. Also i have the Babe in right field and batting in the five spot and Ricky Henderson in left and leading off.

this is going to be a tough one
Mantle, DiMaggio and Bernie are all gimmies. Combs should be on there, too, as should Murcer. But it’s really a question of the first two.

Bernie Williams doesn't belong anywhere near a 25-man roster of great-Yankees
Maybe the worst defensive CF of his generation.
Ruth, DiMaggio, Mantle, Reggie, Maris, Combs, Keller, Henderson, are ALL much better OF options than Bernie Wililams.

Yes, but he's a better guitar player than any of them
And don’t worry, he won’t get anywhere near the All Time Yankees Roster.
that's a little harsh
He’s well behind both Mantle and DiMaggio, and he might not even make the roster (Joe D, Reggie, and either Henderson or Winfield are all better back-up outfielder choices), but Bernie was a great all-around player for a long time.

Honestly though I'll take the Mick, though DiMaggio's gotta be making the roster too

that's my vote, too
Joe D. has to be the 4th outfielder/right-handed DH (if such a position exists).

DiMaggio
Mantle would obviously be on the roster, but personally I think that Joe DiMaggio is one of the top 5 players in the history of baseball. Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, Ted Williams, and Willie Mays are ahead of him. But I’d put Joe DiMaggio after them.
I hate all Boston sports teams
the thing that DiMaggio and Mantle have in common is they both have huge WHAT IF's to them
What if Mantle wasn’t injured so often?
What if DiMaggio didn’t have to deal with a left field the size of Bronx County?

Didn't Ron Guidry once play an inning in CF
I gotta go with Guidry.
are you also voting for Swisher in the bullpen?
He does a have 0.00 ERA.

Yep - I'd put Rivera right behind him, though
Strictly on the basis of postseason stats
I take it back, Ledee mostly played LF
Maybe I woulda given him the nod over Henderson or Winfield.
Mantle & Dimaggio are both mortal locks for this roster.
I voted Dimaggio in CF, mostly because he was rated a better defender by TZ.
Mantle would be my DH, though.
Mantle is in the all-time top ten
Not sure if Dimaggio is there

With many of these polls...
…I think I’d like to see a re-vote if no candidate gets more than 50%, where you drop the other candidates who didn’t get enough votes to be in the Top 2.
It would be nice
but these posts are nightly and taking up time and I’d like to have this done by the end of the season.
