Need some help
Ok everyone I am doing a research paper for my college class. We were allowed to pick anything we want as long as it was something you loved. I chose to pick the New York Yankees since I am a huge fan. The aspects of the Yankees that I will be conducting research on will be the history, the players, and the behind the scene business aspect and the fans. One does anyone know how I could get a hold of maybe someone who is like a historian/ Public Relations Officer for the NY Yankees? Then can anyone recommend any books about the Yankees that I could use. Finally will anyone be intresed in being interviewed for the fan portion of the paper. I have not gotten question together yet but I am working on them. If so please let me know. Thank you.

Depends what you’re looking for. There’s a Yankee Century coffeetable ish book that I love. There are a number of great biographies for the major players.
When you nail down your questions, feel free to shoot me an email using the link at the bottom of the page.

There are any number of Yankees history books in print, and countless autobiographies, biographies, etc. There is also a Yankee history on dvd.
If you want to amuse yourself while doing research, ignore the official histories, and “First Hundred Years” – type books, and read the stuff written by former players/ managers. Some of it is just great.
I recommend the following:
“Ball Four” by Jim Bouton- the greatest sports autobiography/ expose ever- the model for every one written since 1970. – covers the 1960s Yankees
“The Bronx Zoo” by Sparky Lyle – takes care of the 1970s Yankees
Anything by or about Yogi Berra – Yankees of the 50s
Joe Torre’s “The Yankee Years” – out now in papaerback for the 90s and 2000s.
There are a number of Dimaggio, Gehrig and Ruth bios that will give you the flavor of the 20s to the 40s.

Being interviewed for a paper about the Yanks? What could be cooler? If you can’t get anyone else, which I’m sure you can, let me know..I’d love to do it.
Let's cut through the crap, Vaughn. I only got one thing to say to you: "Strike this mother f*cker out."
