He would be...
But I think we’re seasoning him in the minors for trade bait

Any chance Royce Ring comes up?

It hasn't been reported if there is a chance
Actually a good question, I’d like to see him be called up, but there’s no room on the 40 man. If they want to call him up, which wouldn’t surprise me, they’d have to make room. They might wait for Marte and save the room. I’d like to see him called up.

Doesn’t he have an ERA in the 1s?

Nope, nothing yet
I don’t think they’ll do anything with him.

Montero
Will not be called up. The organization is always conservative with position player prospects, especially those with holes in their game. I think the Yankees see much more importance in keeping Montero in the minors to allow him to be an important piece of the SWB team as they make their way through the playoffs. This allows him to realize his place on a team, not be exposed at this point in the MLB season, and not have to catch a struggling rotation trying to right the ship as they sail through the playoffs. After witnessing Cervelli’s struggles with the bat and not being sure what to expect from Posada after all of his recent injuries you will get to see plenty of Montero in spring training and as soon as Posada gets his first injury, well get to see what Montero can do in the big leagues. Hopefully this doesn’t happen at least until midseason. At that point hopefully he’s raking in SWB again and his defense doesn’t impose itself as a glaring weakness and we’ve found our new everyday catcher as long as the bat eventually adjusts.

really?
because I sort of expect Jesus to be on the opening day roster. Think about it. The Yankees will need a DH, as Nick Johnson and Lance Berkman will not return. Instead of going out and signing a big name, why not bring up Jesus Montero? He can be on the opening day roster for a full season, so we get a true taste of what he’s capable of in the major leagues.
He can also split time with Jorge Posada in the major leagues (one catches, the other DHs). This will keep Posada happy because he’s still catching some games, get Montero some catching experience without throwing him out there in 140 major league games right away, and keep Posada healthy because he isn’t behind the plate as much. To me, that seems like win, win, win.
What better place for Jesus to learn and develop as a player and a catcher even more under the watch of Jorge Posada (experienced catcher in the major leagues), Tony Pena and Joe Girardi (both former catchers in the major leagues), and Francisco Cervelli (God, and his one and only father)? His bat is ready RIGHT NOW. I understand if they leave him in Scranton the entire year, but next year I wouldn’t be surprised (in fact, i sort of expect) if he is on the opening day roster at DH, or behind the plate.
I hate all Boston sports teams
As much as i wish
That would be the case, it seems to me that the yankees would try to hold him off unless he were going to start catching everyday. They won’t want to start the arbitration clock on a young dh, stop his development at the catching position, and clog up the dh spot in the lineup with an aging infield that sadly seems less and less able to perform on a consistent basis. It looks like jeter and a rod may need at least 15 starts at dh next year and posada maybe somewhere near 50 or 60.

yes, but...
putting Montero in AAA again would be a waste of his talent. he’s shown he’s ready to move up. he probably wont be good enough to catch everyday no matter how much ‘experience’ he gets in the minors so let him split time between C and DH.
That's a pretty definitive statement to make
Jesus is only 20 years old and has had less than three full years of pro experience.
Here’s a recent Mark Newman quote on June 2:
“We put strong emphasis on the defensive tool for a catcher. It impacts the game in ways most people don’t understand. He has made huge improvements. He’s struggled with the bat the last 6 weeks, but he’s very young for the league. He’ll hit, but he’s made so many improvements. He’s maturing as a human being. We feel very strongly he will be able to catch.”

They aren't wastes
They have specific purposes to serve to the club. Golson has speed (Example: Guzman) and Moeller is a much needed defensive third catcher.

As for Ring
He’s not on the 40 man, not sure if that’s why but it likely played a factor
