Well, this was one to forget. Bad A.J. showed up in a big way, Freddy Garcia stymied our slumping offense, and the Yankees never really made a game out of it. But, after every beat down, there is always tomorrow, and, thankfully, we can pin our hopes on CC Sabathia. We seem to have said this a lot so far this season, but we're counting on the Calorie Consumer to come up big tomorrow.
Play Of The Game: A.J.'s double off of A.J. to give the White Sox a 4-1 lead in the first inning that increased the White Sox chances of winning by 13.8%. After that, it was in full beatdown mode.
Comment Of The Game: Scooby Snacks. Because awkward pictures of A.J. Burnett and Jose Molina still make me chuckle.
And, if you were looking for a graphical interpretation of the aforementioned beatdown, well, you're just going to have to click here because it's too disheartening to post.

AJ's gotta go
3-10 in his last 15 starts. A LOSING record, on the Yankees? I mean that’s just pathetic.
We need to get rid of him, dump his salary, or try to trade (although who would want him?). Just imagine if AJ pitches like he’s supposed to…. we run away with the East. Instead, you just want to throw a brick through the TV every time he is pitching. I’m not thrilled with Javy either lately, and right now our rotation is a huge question mark.
Relax. We have Montero
Everything is going to be okay this season because no matter how tattered our mythical rotation becomes with a lousy Javy and AJ and a hurt Andy, we didn’t need to improve our pitching with a front line starter because we have this stud “prospect” down on the farm that is worth us missing the playoffs this year.
Just sit tight. 2014 is just around the corner.

We obviously didn;t try to get Dan haren
andbefore that everyone was crying about the DH and the PEN and ZOMGZ GRANDY can;t hit lefties and he fixed that. You expect cashman to make every deal possible? before the deadline Javy was pitching well, hughes was good and so was CC…3 good starters plus a up and down AJ and a surprisingly decent Moseley. When the two/three best pitchers available are gone you rather keep your prospects than go for a reach. After Oswalt, lee and haren the talent levels drop off dramatically

How can you say
The yankees don’t score runs for him? His ERA is nearly 8 for his last five starts. You’d win a few if the team scored 10 runs/game for you too. Look AJ is over-rated and will never get together – sad but true. His line tonight 8 hits 4 walks two WPs and oh-yeah 8 earned and 9 runs total. So I suppose if the Yanks score eleven his performance would be cool. Sorry about AJ but 75% of the times he pitches the game is lost in the first three innings.

i didn’t watch it- i was at a movie with my friend.
A.J. is inconsistent. He can throw you a no hitter, and he can get bombed for 8 runs. Today we got bad A.J.. That doesn’t mean he can’t get on a roll. Look at his July numbers.
I’m not saying he’s pitched well recently. I’m saying it’s stupid to give up on him, and say that anybody else in the rotation not over 250 pounds has been pitching better over the last couple months.

when you have one consistent, reliable pitcher out of five
have no real DH, and are missing your cleanup hitter, things can be tough. With the injuries and inconsistency of the pitching, .500 is actually pretty good. Thats trying to look at it positively.

Highly doubtful that this is Burnett's last year
He’s under contract for another three years. What do you plan on doing with him if he has an awful September? Do you really believe that someone would take Burnett off your hands?

What did I say!!! A. J. is a liability!!
That 50/50 chance of A.J. having a good outing has now dropped to about a 30/70 chance. If it wasn’t for his contract he’d be right next to Javy. I still feel better with Nova or Mosley in the rotation. That is how much faith I have in A.J.
