Pinstripe Alley Code of Conduct
Recently, I've noticed that our beloved PSA has added some new members that have become regulars around here. This thrills everyone because all the people that comment/post here love nothing more than to chat about the New York Yankees with other fans that are just as passionate. However, I have also noticed another trend that has emerged over the past month or so that isn't so wonderful...
Skimming through some of the fanpost comments and the comments on GDT's, I have discovered that an excessive amount of cursing and unruly comments have definitely taken over the community. Believe me when I say that I'm not the only one who has noticed this. At Pinstripe Alley, we (everyone) pride ourselves on the fact that we have the most respected and classy franchise in all of sports. Let me take the following two quotes directly from the Community Guideline link itself...
Quote #1 - "We also ask you to bring your 'A' game when you comment. You have to do better than 'Red Sox suck.' Please add something intelligent to the conversation."
Quote #2 - "Keep the cursing to a minimum. In fact, we would prefer none at all. Excessive cursing will draw a warning."
Due to the fact that the Yankees are the classiest franchise in sports, how about we try and keep the community classy as well? Please don't take my thoughts on the situation as a personal attack on people who have just joined us. There are also some Old Timers that have slipped on this quite a bit. I don't mean to preach to you all on how to behave properly, but it's time to move on from obscenities and have more civilized discussions with thought-out comments rather than "he sucks" or "f*#king disgrace". This is not "Lookout Landing" or "Halos Heaven". After all, we did agree to the Community Guidelines when we first joined in order to activate our accounts. If you automatically just pushed "I agree", take some time to go back and look at the guidelines again so that you know what's fair game and what isn't. They're pretty much self-explanatory and go without saying.
This is just a friendly reminder to please keep it clean, folks!
Much love, Y2

I'm sorry.
I will never refer to Johnny Damon as an “ex Kansas City Royals outfielder” again.
Nor will I call Nick Johnson “the Washington Nationals first baseman” as I did a few minutes ago.
I also apologize for referring to many pro athletes’ blogs and twitters as “incoherent gibberish.” (I meant to say “solipsistic drivel”).
None of this will ever happen again.
The Red Sox do not suck, and their fans are not childish, neurotic, Massholes. They all have a s much class as Bostons Best Sports. Every last one of them.

not sure if he was complimenting you
my sarcasm meter went all out of whack from his post. Time to recalibrate it.

OK. Everyone who passed "Sarcasm 101" needs to take "Sarcasm "201 or 202" this semester.
The following is not sarcasm-
I do actually appreciate bestbostonsports’ posts on this site. I have said so before.
Since the original post said "You have to do better than ‘Red Sox suck,’ I made my remark in the form you saw in order to say that I am not a follower of that team without violating the terms of the post. This was semi-subtle humor, but not sarcasm per se.
On the other hand, the Red Sox don’t suck, they still have a chance to make the playoffs, so again, not sarcasm, even though I would not mind seeing them finish behind the Blue Jays. OK?

good points
but it’s probably more appropriate coming from a PA staffer, who can actually moderate the game threads.
I thought so to
But Im glad he posted this so any one else can see it

Agreed
However, I felt that it needed to be addressed and I had time before lunch to write that up.

As with everything in life...
I think there is a line and some people need to find it. Anything in moderation is not going to get people annoyed by what you say, but make it excessive and it’s going to wear on people’s patience. I think (at least for me) it’s the excess that has been weird around here lately.

i must say, when i read the "keep the cursing to a minimum"
i thought of you.
They didn't let me out, they just gave me a day pass.
when I first saw it
I was like, “Oh god. What did I do???? Am I gonna get banned?” then i saw it said no cursing and I calmed down.
They didn't let me out, they just gave me a day pass.
Everyone just keep in mind that they aren't in trouble if you fall under this
I’m sure that, without even realizing it, I’ve said something inappropriate as well. Probably most people on this site have at some point. Some more than others, obviously. Just want to keep it clean, that’s all!

I have never
cursed on this site, thank you. Although I feel the urge to put a curse on Curtis Granderson.
I never do anything wrong
I am perfect

Can we replace swear words with other funny words?
Like Spanish salsa and saltine crackers.
They didn't let me out, they just gave me a day pass.
That would always make for an interesting time

I appreciate Yankees2 taking the time to share his concerns with the forum.
Remember the code of conduct is always in place, and you all are the best police force for the board.
I don’t, frankly, have the time to read every comment in every thread. There is a screen I can access to see all recently flagged comments, so use the ‘actions’ under the comment to flag inappropriate comment and action will be taken, when necessary. Or, if something is really an urgent problem, shoot one (or all) of the mods an email. I check my email a few times a day.

haha
it made me LOL
I would wirte “I hate all NY sports teams” but then I would have to count the Knicks who arent worth hating
