My assault free visit to Yankee Stadium
This visit to Yankee Stadium was completely opposite of my visit in 2008. First off, the park is beautiful. I wasn't happy that they would tear down the old stadium, and I'm still sad it's not there, but I guess there's always change in life.
The first thing I found was the big Nick Swisher banner outside gate 8. I told my mom it must've been fate that we chose this gate to stand in line at and we managed to be in line DIRECTLY under his banner. I must've taken about 15 pictures of it while giggling like a school girl.
I was a little hesitant about going to the game. I have insane pride for my Oakland A's and it wouldn't take much for me to open my big mouth. I was a little on the defensive when I got there. I wasn't ready for the reactions I got from yankees fans. I walked down to the seats in right field and saw Joba Chamberlain, Phil Hughes and Chad Freakin' Gaudin. The guy in front of me asked who Chad was and I blurted out, "CHAD GAUDIN!" and continued to giggle. The guy turned around and saw my Athletics jersey. He asked what I was doing there and I just turned around. He saw that the jersey said, "Swisher," and he put his arm around me, patted me on the back and said, "Well, welcome to the family!" My mom and I walked around the park a few times and alot of people were telling me they liked my jersey and we'd talk about the awesomeness that is Nick Swisher. Plus, I finally got to see the, "Swisher Salute." I couldn't help but notice that there were a handful of guys with Swisher shirts and about 3000 females wearing his shirt. I can't say I was happy about those facts.
Everyone was super nice with the exception of some of the bulldogs that guard the seating sections. There was a large group of girls in the bleacher seats in front of us and they were obnoxious as hell. Plus there was a group of young business type people next to us the the chick next to me kept using me as a back rest. She almost got her fries shoved in her face........
After following Swish since his rookie year, it's difficult to comprehend that now he's a yankee. As much as I hate them, it is the biggest stage in baseball, and Swisher deserves it. It was odd to see him so inaccessible at the ball park. I'm use to seeing Swish out signing and talking to fans long before the game starts. It was hard to see him way down there on the field. But I am proud to be an A's fan and a true Nick Swisher fan. He won my baseball heart at the very beginning of his career. I've seen him go from a scruffy young man to someone who is clean cut, professional, but still fun. He's still Swisher. Nothing can make me happier. You are all so lucky to have him on your team. He may not always have the best stats. He may have slumps, but know that he's generally his own worst enemy. He hates not being able to help his team out. He will play hard and give 100% all the time. He has a big heart and honestly loves all his fans. Take care of him for me, ok? And if anyone runs into him, tell him Emily said Hi!

We're more than happy to have him on the team.
Heh, I probably shouldn’t let you know this, but I’ve seen Swish wearing nothing but a towel and a smile, flexing his Swishalicious muscles!

Swish had a contest on facebook to see who was his biggest fan. I think you would have won.
