So much has been made of this three game series between the Dodgers and the Yankees. Torre vs. his old team. Mattingly vs. his old team. Torre vs. Rodriguez. Even with all of that, doesn't it just feel like a regular series? We were treated to a great performance by Sabathia, a horrendous performance by Burnett, and now get to see Pettitte try to salvage the series win.
Pettitte is facing his old manager and his ace, Clayton Kershaw. It will be the battle of the lefties, one old, one young, both trying to win the series for their manager named Joe.
VS.
As for the overflow, you guys get the choice. Would you like a scheduled overflow for 10:15 PM in case I have something crazy happen and I'm not at the laptop (I plan on being here all night) or would you like to take the very slim chance of me not being here and just let me know in the comments when you want one. A-Rod made it a point to shake Torre’s hand and have a quick conversation with him during warm-ups. Apparently, ESPN’s cameras captured the exchange, so we can be sure we’ll see it during the game. I know this because multiple beat writers have been tweeting about it.
Attention writers and ESPN: NO YANKEE FAN GIVES A SHIT!!! This is a media-driven story if ever there was one. No one cares if they don’t like each other. They aren’t on the same team anymore! Please, media people, heed this: if faced with a choice between writing a story, blog post or tweet about A-Rod and Torre today or tomorrow and throwing yourself off a cliff, please, PLEASE go on Google Maps and find the nearest cliff.

but Morgan first. Miller is actually decent at calling a game. It’s just the way he says peoples names and the way he adds to the english language bugs the hell out of me.
Listen to the way he says “Adrian Beltre” and “Luis Castillo”. It bugs the freaking hell out of me. SAY THE NAME RIGHT

Its not really about watching it, its about overall talent level.

Strasburg shouldn’t be on the All-Star team. He didn’t even pitch until June. He’ll be taking a spot away from someone who did well all year just because he’s the popular #1 pick.
Don’t get me wrong, he’s been great. He’s going to make plenty of All-Star teams. But he doesn’t deserve to be on this one. There are enough deserving pitchers in the NL who have done well all year, not just in 4 starts.
