Now Batting DH Number 99 Manny Ramirez Number 99

No one on this Page can tell me that they haven't ever looked at Manny and was like DH for the Yanks. I know with Posada up there in age. He's gonna have to DH A lot more but think ahead to 2011 Line up . Jeter 1 Cano 2 , Tex 3, Arod 4, and a Heathlty DH Manny 5. I know he's not the same player who played in Boston but look at our DH's this year. Nick Johnson one of the worst signs ever by Cashman, Marcus is a Waste great at bat off the Beach but a Waste, and our 4 rookies/ AAA allstars. All im saying is thats one scary Line up and one can only wish.

One More thing it could be a Sign like Strawberry , Justice and Cecil. and look on how those high risk over aged worked out

Rather not bother with this lunatic

rather get Damon back.

Adam Dunn is also a FA this offseason. If we’re getting a dude to play DH (which I’d rather not..Posada’s still signed, and A-Rod and Jete will probably DH too).

Dunn > Manny, especially when talking about Yankee stadium. F Manny.

However, if we’re talking about 4-5 million for one year, I guess that’s not so bad.

KEEP LEE!!!

Don't bother with him

go for youth rather than signing that old idiot.

If they’re going to bring someone in to DH, then like Free said bring Damon back, or Adam Dunn.

Or, if Montero is ready, bring him up to catch and move Posada to DH.

The Yanks will have a ton of options, but getting Manny should NOT be one they should take seriously.

Never coming here

if people recall, a few years ago, the Sox put him out there for about 72 hour window for anybody to grab him, no one did, including the Yanks. They have seen his act from afar, he is too toxic, besides declining skills.

he was making about $20 million

pretty sure that was the biggest reason why. Declining skills definitely weren’t (tore things up for the Dodgers didn’t he?), but yea, his act was thin.

Yeah

and the Yanks couldn’t afford it? I know what he was making, I live here too, he will be lucky to get 5 or 6 million after this season. I said declining skills now, re-read.

re-read yourself

the Yankees weren’t gonna take on that salary for no reason during those 72 hours. Where were they gonna put him?

And no, you didn’t say “declining skills now”. Re-read what you wrote too.

You win

besides declining skills, what does that imply? Save your AJ angst please.

"Now batting for the Yankees, number 99 Boze the Clown on the Downside, number 99"

Yeah, I thought of Manny as a guy who would have made a great DH for Yankees — back when he was a Cleveland Indian. Not now. He’s a bozo now and will soon be feeling the effects of a breaking down post-steroidal body. Don’t need another one of those on the Yankee squad.

And Cano batting 2nd?!? I think he’s shaping up to be more like a #3 guy. Or #5 or 4…

Agreed.

Too much of a distraction and having a full-time DH is not necessary for winning a World Series.

Did you know Joe Morgan thinks Cano will win a batting title one day?

A few things...

1) Your grammar depresses me.
2) Why ever bother with a clubhouse douche?
3) Manny is getting old as well…

whay look at 2011

because that is the future or this team. do you drive you car and only look 20 feet in front of yourself? no because you want to see what is ahead of you.thats assuming that your old enouth to drive. sit back, open your ears, shut your mouth, you just might lear sometjing

... LOL

That was probably the worst comparison I’ve ever heard… the fact of the matter is that the Yankees should probably worry about the trade deadline before they start looking at free agents at the end of the season. They should also concentrate on winning a world series title before looking at next year…
