A nickname for Javy?

Maybe we have found a nickname for Javier Vazquez. Maybe we should just call Javy good 'ole 'Skip A Turn' Vazquez.

Javy is being skipped again this week and won't pitch again until Friday, even after pitching very well against Detroit. Hey, if he pitches well again maybe this should be his new schedule.

One question this morning, largely for my co-horts here at PA. Why, oh why, didn't we run an over/under contest on how many games Nick Johnson would play this season? It's looking possible that that number won't be very many.

I recall a contest at the beginning of the season

where people bet on which would happen first, this or that, and I think NJ getting injured was one of events to bet on

I call Javy "JV"

Because he’s not quite ready for the varsity.

Having any of your starters

pitch on three days rest in May is stupid. Skipping your best starter’s spot in the rotation would be stupid too. I have no idea why this is so controversial.

Just

having a little fun w/it … or trying to. Not really trying to start a fight.

Not trying to fight, just saw many posts like this

that try to make it out as a slight on Javy for him to be skipped. When the alternative is to skip Hughes who has been the best pitcher on the team I don’t see how ayone can see it as a slight—not even Javy.

Someone mind telling me why Tim Redding again?

If they gave him a minimum minor league deal it is way to much. I know he never sees the field but the dude isn’t even decent trade bait to get a 4th tier prospect. Just curious if I’m missing something?

My balls itched and when I looked down I could see hemroids thru my assfro, Now what? To the pornmobile.

Redding

Don’t worry about that. It’s just minor-league depth. The guy won’t see New York until a whole slew of guys get hurt. What’s the big deal? I fail to understand why some people get all worked up about such small, inconsequential moves like this.

by Ed Valentine on May 16, 2010 12:08 PM EDT up reply actions

Because he’s not an All-Star and we can’t trade him for guys like Carl Crawford and Evab Longoria!

AHHHHHHH!

your an idiot Gelatin

I hate Crawford and never piss and moan about all stars, I was just wondering why. Don’t worry though your high and mighty know all Yankee things shows. What is up with the guy at the gym atitude anyhow?

People get worked up because

They dont want there to be even a small chance that he plays for the team in the majors.

Re: Nick Johnson, just keep Cervelli behind the plate and DH Posada as much as possible, then let Posada catch whenever A-Rod or any of the other older players need a DH day.

I agree. Ride Cervelli. I doubt he’ll keep hitting like this, but they might as well ride the hot hand.

Once he cools down, Jorge goes back behind the plate. Less mileage on Posada will be big come September and October.
