Thames starts against a lefty, again.

I wasn't impressed with Thames in his start against the Sox. Now he starts against a lefty again despite Gardner's .333 AVG. Why not let the GGBG play, with his speed he can get a lucky hit or 2 and steal a base. Come on Joe, don't take people out the lineup when they are playing well. GGBG is 1 for 2 against lefties this year. Everyone knows Brett can impact the game in a lot of ways, which I can't say the same about Thames. This is why I don't like Girardi, he always goes with the stats instead of his mind and guts. Maybe I'm wrong and Thames will have a big game today, but it's unlikely. The guy is a .240 hitter in his career. If going with the stats, Joe, why not take Grandy out of the line up (Cervelli forbid), he's way worse against lefties than Gardner.

Thames to teh pen!!!

Cervelli bless everyone and go Yankees!
