During the offseason there was discussion about what we like in a league, and this league provides a bunch of options.
Draft day My preference is a weekday evening in the week of March 22. What works for the rest of you?
League rules This is a head to head league.
I like 9 positions, starters and relievers: C, 1B, 2B, SS, 3B, LF, CF, RF and Util. If you prefer OF, middle infield, corner infield or anything else, I'll bow to the majority. From this I'd have the 9 position players, 2 starters and 2 relievers available each day, plus a bench 4 of to mix and match.
Do we want to try a keeper league? I've never done one before, but CBSSports.com offers a "minors" option where we could stash prospects and store future draft picks.
Scoring There are a ton of scoring options. See here. We even have the option to create custom stats by building off the basics (for example, we could have a wOBP as 2*OBP+SLG/2). We could even weight certain categories if we wanted.
It'll be even pitching and hitting, but we could have 2 categories on each side or 20. We could even include fielding stats. I'd go for OBP, SLG, SB-CS, Runs Produced, Hits :: WHIP, K/9, K:BB, ERA, Quality Starts; but again, I'll go with the league.
Use this thread to weigh in.

Keeper Leagues Are Fun
I am in a few, and being most of the guys I see in this league are regulars on this board, its not a bad idea. If guys arent familiar with prospects it might be a little tough for them though. I cant believe I’m lucky enough to be in the same division as my buddy Free Bradshaw.
I would not mind a Keeper League
and the minors option sounds pretty cool.
Also Jscape, CBS is saying that our league has not yet been payed for and that this is only a free trial. I am sure you have this all worked out, but just wanted to make sure.
I think having the position of OF would be better. I think it could get pretty challenging with 15 teams to find waiver pickups for the outfield at their individual positions. But then again it could be fun.
Categories, the standard are cool… 2b, 3b, hr, rbi, OBP, sb, slg, OPS, Production Percent seems like a pretty cool one. Good for the part time players?
I agree with the pitching categories, including Wins, shutouts, Saves, and possibly holds.
The deal is
SBN & CBSSports.com are providing the league, and I’ll write an article about it every couple of weeks.
That’s why I have the weird disclaimer at the bottom of the post.

I would like to include fielding stats
it would change up the drafting a lot, I think. People always look at offense, and offense only, in fantasy. If you include defense, it could change a lot and make the drafting and season more interesting. It would definitely be something to considered to try.
Also, I would make 3 OF spots instead of a LF, CF, and RF, but thats really the only change I would make to that. I’m fine with the rest of it.
As far as the keeper league goes, I’ve never tried one either. I’d do it if it’s the majority, but I’d definitely have a bigger shot at killing everyone if we did a regular league.
Also, I’m having a bit of a problem getting into the league. I click on the see here button, but it comes up with the, “error, this is a private league” thing. I haven’t gotten a confirmation email or anything, so I’m not sure. I didn’t make a CBS account for myself until I found out that this league was being played on CBS, so that may be why I have a problem. Or it might be the new email. I’m not sure. I just think- it’s better to get the problem fixed now than later. If I need a confirmation email, send it to letsgoyankees27@gmail.com
Evening in the week of March 22nd is good for me- as long as it’s early in the week. I’m going on vacation on the 25th and I can’t do the draft then. But early in the week- Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday, as long as it’s later at night, would be fine for me.
Hmm
I thought I’d changed your email, but it was still the old one when I logged in.
I’ve tried changing it again, and I’ve re-sent the invite to everyone who hasn’t accepted. Let me know if you get it.

Got it!
and I just accepted. Thanks.
You were right- thats a ton of scoring options. And most people on here were just looking at Yahoo and ESPN? Wow.
Seriously
Our league is provided for, but even if it wasn’t, 15 people is 5 bucks a piece for the season. I can afford that investment.

Rules
I like the categories you suggested but will go with whatever people want here. I also like the thought of having defense included in some way if CBS lets you do that.
Can we make wOBA?
the equation would be:
(0.72xNIBB + 0.75xHBP + 0.90×1B + 0.92xRBOE + 1.24×2B + 1.56×3B + 1.95xHR + .25xSB – .5xCS) / PA
Is that possible?
I will try.
We may have to go with something a little simpler. We might have to go with just BB, and maybe we’d have to live without Reached Base On Error.

I can deal with almost anything in fantasy
but what in the world is Wraith selling up there? I want to be a part of a fantasy league, not the mathletes. That doesnt look like much fun. Thoughts?
Thanks J!
I’m fine with whatever set-up you use and the week of Mar. 22nd works for me.
My email is: scooby_snacks_nyc@yahoo.com
I'm down with anything
though I’d definitely like to see OBP as a stat. Fielding stats would also be really cool.
The week of March 22nd should be OK for me, but it depends on the time—we’ll figure that out as the time comes closer though.
