Joba trade?
Let me first say that I am not a blind Joba supporter. I think he has good raw materials to work with, but so do many pitchers that never reach their potential.
Since the Yankees are about winning now, despite the youth movement, would it surprise you if the Yankees trade Joba? What about a Joba, Montero, Brackman for Mauer deal? Or maybe a three-team trade to get Crawford?
It just seems like Joba has become a problem for the Yankees. A square peg in a round hole.
Listen, I would like to see Joba stay. I think he will be an integral part of the next "nucleus", but I would not put it past the Yankees to make a move.

is this a joke?
Joba, Montero, Brackman for Mauer deal
especially since he signed a gigantic deal already....

yea they aren’t trading Mauer after giving him 184 million
"Sure, I've been called a xenophobe, but the truth is, I'm not. I honestly just feel that America is the best country and the other countries aren't as good. That used to be called patriotism."- Eastbound and down...if you like baseball, watch this show it's one of the funniest ever!
Even pre-signing, that wouldn’t be enough for the Twins to take.

Joba will be a starter by this time next year, if not sooner.
Pettitte will likely retire. Vazquez will be a free agent. The chances that at least one of them will not return are excellent. If Vazquez does not live up to expectations, neither of them may be back. In that event, there is a shortage of starters, not a surplus.
If a starter is injured for any length of time this year, Joba is certainly able to transition back into the rotation. Trading him because there is no spot available right this second is spectacularly shortsighted.

if we trade joba, here is what I would do
Include him in a three team deal where we can get a better bullpen
The bullpen is fine as Cashman only addressed the departure of Phil Coke by adding Chan Ho Park. Not exactly a desperate signing.

What??
No. No way this happens. We have Montero and other catchers coming up, so trading for Mauer would be dumb. Crawford is a free agent next season, so unless we get a steal, trading for him wouldn’t be smart either. The guy has huge potential, so saying we should trade him after one bad ST isn’t the way to go. AJ or Andy will go down in the first few months, so that’s when Joba steps in and shows what kind of dominance he and Hughes will bring to the Yankees in a couple of years. Don’t forget that Javy is a free agent next season too, so this is in all likely-hood a one year 8th inning patch, if that.
I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle - victorious.

Ummm...NO!
Joba is already an asset to this team. And for years to come he will either be a starter or a much needed commodity in the bullpen, perhaps even Mo’s successor.
Joba trade?
Not in my book. He should be ready for the 7th or 8th with the possibility of being a second closer like Tom Gordon at his best. I think Joba can go 2 innings when needed. Robertson-Joba-Mariano would appear to be a strong finish. Marte can go an inning, although his primary job will be as a lefty specialist. Logan might make it as a 2nd LHP, especially with Melancon sent back down. I think the 6th starter should be Mitre; it seems that Aceves does best from the ’pen. Mitre had one excellent game against the Red Sox late last year — he reminded me of Wang with the sinker.
we should trade him
for a promising 24-year-old pitcher with electric stuff who hasn’t been given a proper chance by his team…
Joba has about zero trade value right now.
Good job.
Strikeouts are boring- Besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls - it's more democratic.
He doesn't have "zero trade value"
But I’d definitely call it selling low.

Vince Lombardi
Yeah lets trade him for jeremy bonderman that would be good
Aka he has zero trade value to the Yankees

Yikes!
WTF we must be desperatly bored. I think Joba for Milton Bradley would liven things up.
Global domination, bizarre experiments on youth, our best player squatting in buildings drinking Bacardi, what you call the Evil Empire, I CALL HOME!!!!

I'm all for it
hopefully to the O’s or something, for abosalutely nothing in return, then we can watch him destroy the Yankees for the next 5 -10 year and then we can crucify every moron that said he should be a reliever.
Not a chance
1) Mauer just signed in Minn for a reason. They want to keep him as the local boy and face of the team in a new ballpark.
2) Why trade for Crawford whyn you can get him as a FA in the off season?
3) Its great to have a backup for Mo who is up there in age.
