I think this is when baseball takes a backseat to a humans health. Sure I wouldn't mind if David Oritz breaks his leg but a brain issue is much different. Hopefully the surgery goes well and Westmoreland is traded for Kei Igawa.

Wow..

Words like “cavernous malformation” does not sound good. Some people need to grow
up on here, saying things like if he recovers, but fails against the Yanks, or thrives wearing another uniform is just assinine!

Shitty man

Hope he recovers

This sticker is dangerous and inconvenient, but I do love Fig Newtons.

Hopefully he recovers and comes back like Lester, but for anyone but the Sox.

Hope he gets better

and when he does, then I hope he fails with the Sox, goes to another team, and begins to thrive. That would be the “ideal” situation for him (to me anyway).

Wow

Here’s hoping that he recovers well.

A Red-Sox athlete's foot epidemic wouldn't be too bad either.

But seriously, hope he recovers. You hate to see things like that, and the fact that it’s brain surgery makes it that much more frightening.

I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle - victorious.
