My 2010 Fantasy Rankings For Pitchers
Hey, I thought I'd post this and get some feedback. I'm in a pretty competitive Fantasy Baseball League and I decided to rank my top 100 for pitchers. Let me know if you think I left anyone off or if you disagree, I'm open to suggestions/tweaking.

Perhaps this will be the third consecutive year I steal Jurrjens
in ’08 it seemed nobody wanted him, and I still got him late last year. His 2.60 ERA was huge for me last year.
I remember my friend kept talking about how frustrating owning him was because the Braves would never score runs for him so he wouldn’t get that many wins. I wish he struck more guys out though.
Yeah, he doesn't get a ton of wins,
but neither does/will Greinke playing for the Royals. He shouldn’t be considered an “elite pitcher” as far as fantasy value goes at least. I think it isn’t too much to ask for him to put up 150-160 Ks with 15 or so wins this year. The ERA might rise a bit, but he’s still a very solid value after the top pitchers are taken.

I don't think Peavy's going to be too good in the AL Central
Putting him one spot behind Cliff Lee might be taking it too far I think.
I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle - victorious.
Vince Lombardi
Agreed,
not only is he coming from the NL, but Petco park at that. I think we can count on a pretty noticeable rise in ERA from him. The Ks will still partially be there, but I sure hope people aren’t expecting him to return to his 2007 form.

Peavy is a strikeout guy, the ballpark won’t really factor that much with him I don’t think. He’s also facing offensive competition in the Central that could arguably be called worse than the lineups he faced in the NL West. The offense behind Peavy is also better than the one behind Lee, and the offense Lee faces in the Angels and Rangers are much better than anything Peavy faces on a regular basis.
Woah woah woah.
The Mariners defense last year was (arguably, but hardly) probably one of if not the best defenses of the bast 30 years. Franklin Gutierrez was snubbed blatantly of a gold glove and had one of the highest UZR scores since the stat was invented. Ichiro was his usual self in RF, albeit a touch slower. Jack Wilson continues to put up his all defense, no offense numbers, and now Kotchman will be playing 1B, no doubt a defensive upgrade over Branyan. Not to mention Chone Figgins (although he will be taking over for Beltre, not an upgrade, but still an excellent defender). Plus, Ryan Langerhans and Michael Saunders provide extremely high defensive value off the bench to backup the corner OF positions.
The debate over whose defense is better, the White Sox’ or Mariners’ isn’t one. I’m not saying Peavy will be backed up by a bunch of scrubs, but they hardly compare to the defensive juggernaut Jack Z. has put together in Seattle. There’s a reason Felix Hernandez had a FIP of 3.09 but his ERA was only 2.49: excellent glove work behind him.
As for the offenses faced, I’ll agree with you, but I don’t think the discrepancy is that big. The Angels are obviously weaker, and the Rangers only improved marginally. Aside from dealing with Mauer and Morneau, Cabrera, and Sizemore if he returns to action, the offenses in the division aren’t too scary.

I never said Chicago’s defense was better, that would be idiotic. I said the offense behind Peavy, which I probably could have phrased better.
Haha,
My bad. I must have read it wrong last night. My apologies. I would agree though, the offense backing up Peavy is more solid than Lee’s. Especially with a bounce back year from Quentin.
