How much would you wager?

Take the test and see how you do. But remember, only 30 seconds per question and no looking up the answers...

There were some toughies but I got 8/10. Considering that, and assuming I'm tied with the other contestants, I'd wager all but a dollar (especially considering the recent ease of their sports questions).

That first question was a doosy.

Jeopardy

If you’re tied with the others, you always wager everything, because if the other guy wagers everything and wins, you get nothing.
Conversely, if you’re ahead, never wager enough that you could actually lose.

but if you both get it wrong

you’ll win with a buck. i’ve seen people come back from third in final jeopardy to win (despite getting it wrong) bc they wagered less than the top two.

and yeah, i missed #1.

7 and 10-are you kidding me?

I got 7 out of 10, but the first question with Chicago was kind of touch. I’d definitely wager all I could, but considering it’s Jeopardy, it won’t be as easy as we’d all think it could be.

I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle - victorious.

I meant the first question was tough

spell-check isn’t foolproof then I guess lol

Even if I hadn't known about that they used to be the Alleghenies

it did help to know that the Allegheny is one of the “Three Rivers” of Pittsburgh.

I only just learned where they got their nickname a few weeks ago. Forgot where I read it, but that’s pretty cool.

Missed the first one and the “stole” one (which made me feel stupid).

Finnegans Wake! Never read it. I haven’t finished Ulysses yet, though I’ve enjoyed what I’ve read.

You are correct! I read it through once about five years ago, and felt like I understood about 10% of it. I recently restarted with Annotations and Skeleton Key to see if it goes any differently. Ulysses is a much more satisfying read.
