A.J. Burnett's face when he found out Jose Molina had signed with the Toronto Blue Jays. Molina thought he would have his number retired along with the other Yankees legends, but found out the hard way when Nick Johnson was given his #26. The Blue Jays are now the favorites in the AL East.

Hopefully Cervelli can play his part

with better hitting

Cervelli can do it, but

Cervelli can do it but, speaking of catchers, what’s the deal with the arbitration ruling ($ 1.3 MM) on Mendoza-line-lifer PT catcher Jeff Mathis? He’s gonna make more than a lot of better catchers, including Jose.

by Richard Deegan on Feb 19, 2010 8:29 PM EST reply actions

Not sure actually

One thing I do know is that Mathis has the same amount of career home runs as Molina and Molina’s been around much longer.

Molina’s line career is .235/.277/.332
Mathis’ line career is .200/.277/.320

Molina

was a fine backup and a solid pro. I wish him well.

It was cool to see him groom his successor

even though every time he helped Cervelli get better he pushed himself further out the door

Molina

Why in the hell would he even think for one moment his number would be retired as a Yankee great??? He was just another player.

Cervelli doesn’t cook.

He has Victoria secret models making him full coarse meals at his leisure.

Maybe we can trade Burnett back to the Blue Jays

for Ricky Romero?!

Just kidding of course, I’d be sad without his pies.

Cervelli's models make him those too!

Romero has nasty stuff

As much as I’d miss the pies. I’d certainly consider that trade

molina

i thought molina was a great backup… he couldnt hit to save his life but he was a great defensive catcher with a solid arm. He seemed like a good guy too.

Give it up for the last man to hit a homer in old Yankee Stadium.

still can't believe that he was the one who did it

if you gave me 20 guesses as to who it would be, he would have been my 19th or 20th.

All about catchers man.
