Girardi will lighten the workloads...
of Sabathia, Burnett and Pettitte in Spring Training. It makes sense after they combined for 726 innings last year (including the playoffs) and pitched into November. That's an average of 242 per pitcher.
[edit. note: I realized the title might be misleading, so I added the 'in Spring Training' part. Presumably, Girardi will treat them normally once the season starts.]

I seem to remember
someone suggesting a way that all of the starters could get a little extra time off at the beginning of the season.
It’s a way to limit the innings for the important guys early in the year AND have Hughes reach his innings quota in the majors.
This sticker is dangerous and inconvenient, but I do love Fig Newtons.
I remember that, too
Cause I beat you to it by a couple of weeks.
I doubt they’d do it. But it would be interesting to see.
"Have faith in the Yankees, my son. Think of the great DiMaggio."
Damn
Alright Jscape I didn’t realize you beat me to the draw.
Good call.

why wouldnt
we have a 6 man rotation??
"Hey Derek do you actually drive the Edge?","I don't drive that piece of crap!"
because that means less starts for CC?

Yeah that's sort of the point
dude threw a ton of innings last year.
Is it really a tragedy if we limit has April and May innings (where historically he’s not very effective anyway)?

6 man rotation
I don’t think it’s something you’d want to do all year because it would limit CC to around 27 starts and I mean we are in a tough division so you want your best out there as much as possible. It is something to consider, however, in the 2nd half if we have a comfortable lead, to limit the starters’ innings and also to get Hughes a few starts.

Yeah doing it all season would be nuts
and you can’t expect everyone to stay healthy.
I only want to do it in the beginning of the season, when we aren’t in the home stretch of the divisional race.
Let Hughes throw like 80-100 innings out of the rotation, then send him to the pen for the rest of the season and the playoffs.

No no no no
6 man rotation- was a bad idea, and is still a bad idea. Look at all the off days. Do you really want your starters to pitch once a week? (Throw in some rainouts).
Loads will be lightened DURING spring training (not “in”)
Girardi will find a way to get everyone innings even with a 4 man rotation during April.
