Pettitte leaning back towards retirement?
The folks at River Ave. Blues reported a number of sources saying Andy Pettitte is leaning back toward retirement. Brian Cashman confirmed this. This could be trouble for the Yankees' rotation stability, but the decision is entirely Pettitte's to make and I'll respect him either way. If this is the end, I'm going to miss him.

If Pettitte leaves it's for good reason...
….He has the right to decide what HE truly wants for him and his family. I’m sure he doesn’t want to drag this out and risk his solid rep by creating some Favre-esque headlines about whether he will or won’t retire. If he thinks that he’s done, that there is either nothing left in the tank or his family is more important, it’s his decision, even if it puts the Yankees in a short-term bind. He’s given the Yankees alot and deserves to leave when he wants. I’d be one of the first to wish him well and thank him for doing what he’s done in pinstripes. If he does retire this offseason, i’m sure we can find someone for the spot, who won’t replace Andy, but can help fill part of a great void left in the rotation.

If Cashman said this, I'd take it with a grain of salt.
I just can’t see what he’d gain by announcing that his #2 pitcher is leaning towards retirement, which would give Cliff Lee additional leverage (if that’s possible)
You’d think he’d keep it under wraps.

Very soon he needs to stop waffling (sorry, WWJD) and make up his mind so that we can move forward with a solid plan.

Agreed LD
It is getting time for him to defecate or get off the pot.

What are you tryin' to say about waffles?
No, I agree. I love Andy, but it’s time to just make a decision either way and stick with it so we know whether we need 1 pitcher or 2.
And if you forget our names, just tell them we were Yankees
