Wow, wasn't thinking the new melkman would be added so quickly.
Good for him. Real exciting prospect if he can improve his pitch recognition.
Strikeouts are boring- Besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls - it's more democratic.
he'll be back
Girardi won’t let his boy go hungry. Does this mean that Mitri is staying though?
Who will get the other spot on the 40?
Believe me, there will be many more roster moves. Lots of players (Betances for example) will need to be added and lots of players (Moeller for example) will be removed.

You don't think they'll resign Moeller again?
If they don’t then I think that’s a vote of confidence for Montero and he hopefully won’t be traded at that point
No problem, I actually can’t listen myself, so give me a heads up if anything interesting is said.

Just listened for a few minutes. He’s off now. Hal was addressing the Chuck Greenberg comments and said he had demanded an apology. Also thinks the league should fine Greenberg.

Interesting, that sounds more intense than Hal usually seems.

sounds like something George would have said
although George would have been twice as vocal about it.

Interesting…might be hinting at Cliff Lee in a sense, thanks for the updates!

Good bye Chad
If you come back a third time I’m going to…
Ah another Melky added to the 40 man squad. Hope this one is as likable as the last one, as well as a better baseball player.
I’d rather have Leo than Gil Patterson as pitching coach- just saying.

I’d rather have Leo than almost anyone, but there’s no legitimacy to any rumors about him yet.

there usually aren't legitimacy to rumors
thats why they are called rumors. I hope they are true though because he would be as good as just about anyone.

No, I mean there aren’t any rumors of that even happening. All people wanting it to happen, but no legitimate source has talked about it and the Yankees certainly haven’t approached that idea yet.

he'll be back as a spring training invitee
he’ll win the fifth starter job and go on to win the Cy Young. Book it.

This is heartening for a Yankee fan
The owners of any team should be disappointed with anything less than a World Series win, even if I’m satisfied with less.
Usqueadbaugham! Anam muck an dhoul ! Did ye drink me doornail?
If you guys do not go vote!
than the Yankees will sign Chad Gaudin to a ten year deal!
Where did we go wrong?
Through the playoffs and the series, watching the incredible bright and very young pitchers out there, like almost the whole Giants rotation, and before that seeing the Sox with those two very capable young pitchers, what didn’t we do right? We batter the hitting stats to pieces. Both Sabathia and Hughes had good W-L but if it weren’t for serious sticks, their numbers would not be so good. When a Moseley was better than a Burnett and Javy was a punching bag, Joba off and on with the only good pickup (Kerry Wood) probably gone, seeing all that young talent on the mound for other teams has to make me wonder.

what we did wrong was win
When you win you get higher draft picks and by that point all of the best pitching is already taken. If we went through another late 80’s early 90’s then you’ll see some top pitching coming up the line
There's good young pitchers in the system
problem is that the teams win now mentality has them give long contracts to starting pitchers as an overreaction. A.J. Burnett is the lastest example, I was never against signing him and I thought if he stayed healthy he could have 2 or 3 good years and contribute, problem is he’s signed for longer and seems to be more of a headcase than I originally thought. Cliff Lee is a great pitcher but this team can win with out him and have enough long contracts that are going to start looking worse and worse in 2011 and 2012. I think eventually a line has to be drawn and Cashman or Hal will have to finally let some of our prospects develop and maybe start saving a little bit of money. Are they all ready for 2011, no, but Cliff Lee and just about any other starer is going to want a multi year contract, I like the Killer B’s and I’d like to actually see them in pinstripes one day with Hughes and Sabathia.
Maybe we oughta revamp the scouting system.
Good point about the draft choices. But there has to be some great talent hiding out there.
