We have all heard quite a lot about Joe Girardi's famous managerial "book" of matchups, numbers, and A.J. Burnett tattoo ideas. More often that not, Joe puts his nose in the book and comes to the conclusion that what the game is missing is a little extra Chad Gaudin flavor. But how would you like to have some of the information that Joe has?

Well, there you have it. While this is something of a celebration of small sample size, and needs to be taken with several grains of salt, there were a few recurring themes: CC Sabathia is nasty. A.J. Burnett has completely shut down 3 out of the 4 hitters on this list. None of these four batter have a hit off of Kerry Wood.
100 posts down! (22 fanposts as a commenter, 78 on the front page) I've enjoyed them all (even three word overflow threads) and hope there are many hundreds more to come. It is a tad humbling to realize, however, that I'm still only about 7% the man that Jscape is.

I was watching the YES Networks postseason preview today, and they said that Burnett is probably going to be used in this round in different ways. They said he could possibly start, he could possibly come in in long relief, and he will most likely be a guy for one inning to be a power pitcher out of the bullpen.
Knowing that he’s shut down some of the hitters in this lineup gives me more confidence if he gets into a game, because if he’s used the way YES said he’d be used, then he’s going to pitch this series.
