Remember this place?
The sad, slow deconstruction of the old Yankee Stadium continues. Below is a photo of the facade being taken apart. See WCBS880.com for more images.

Its like watching an elderly relative pass on
But we’ve got a great new place man. Gotta move on sometime. Thats the biggest reason for me to win this year, not the “drought”, but to make it feel like something great was passed on and essentially reincarnated.

The House that Ruth Built will live on forever
Very sad to see, but the Ghosts and memories seem to have made there way across the street just fine. October will be fun.

I Can't Believe
they are taking down the same place that Babe Ruth got to play in. Not to mention Mickey Mantle, Lou Gherig, Joe Dimagio, and Yogi Berra. I literally cried when I was watching the last game there. Then I cried some more when the FIRST game played at the new Yankeee Stadium was on my birthday. I will miss it FOREVER.

I have fond memories
of this place. I reside in Georgia, and yet the Yankees are my favorite team. All it took was a simple mention to my mother about me wanting to go to the Stadium before it closed for good and I had tickets to a Yankees-Angels game in early August. I sat behind home plate in the nose bleeds, and I had the greatest luck with sitting in front of loud, rambunctious Yankee fans (I’m so serious — I wanted the entire Yankee baseball experience). I forget the date, but I remember thinking that I almost attended the wrong game — Tex hit a grand slam and seemingly knocked the Yankees out, but we ended up winning the game 13-8. My first and last game at the grand old Yankee Stadium…….and then witnessing the construction of the new Stadium across the street and it was one of the most unforgettable experiences I’ll ever have.
Thank you to the fans that live in New York, you all made the experience great.

my greatest memory
My first yankee game ever because I live in Charlotte, NC and it turned out to be the game where we beat the Sox in 13 innings and Jeter made that famous catch into the Third Base seats. Truly Amazing! The old stadium will always hold many memories for us true Yankee fans.
