ARod is HOT!!!!!! (Slow Clap for #13  Pt.2)

Amidst all the pitching worries, at least we know the heart of the  "O" can explode anytime. Jorge,Matsui,Tex,and my boy Alex Rodriguez. I don't know if he's 90% healed, gettin that good KHud lovin' or stopped being overly cerebral---but whatever it is, its working. The natural ability is on display this year, and even more important...lately.

It might just have to be the offense that sails this ship. We might have to face the fact  that the pitching staff is pretty good but not outstanding. Either way I'm confident that ARod is finding his NY niche, and the players surrounding him are just as scary and will feed off him. No worries my friends,no worries.

More clutch-Rod for ya

2-R HR.

Lead saving (at the time) dive for a sure double down the line, then gunning out Guerrero (2009 Guerroro, but still…)

and of course go ahead sac fly (tho only Gardy makes that one…)

What the f$%k is the internet?

True only Gardy makes it

because he absolutely blasted it.

Strikeouts are boring- Besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls - it's more democratic.

Nice win

but those runners LOB in the first, especially with less than 2 outs, and then Cano leading off with a double in the second and not even getting to third with less than 2 outs so that he could score on something other than a hit, these are the kinds of things that come October can ruin HURT alot . Granted Santana threw some excellent pitches to avoid any damage and Posada did hit the ball hard for the last out of the second. Chances are much more at a premium in October. Over the course of most games, as their MLB-leading OBP (not to mention MLB-leading homer total) attests to, the Yanks put so many runners base on that scoring runs (often a lot of them) is almost inevitable. And this is a credit to the team, but I’d like to see guys like Swisher and Cano bear down more with RISP. We’re hitting like 273 with RISP and that’s not bad. The Angels are hitting over 300 with RISP and they have about 50 fewer homers than the Yanks but only about 40 fewer runs scored. It can’t always be the long ball that saves us.

yup

the 1st and 2nd got on my nerves the whole game. I know the Angels did the same thing, but I don’t care about what they do.

1st inning and you got a chance to get a stranglehold on the game? No, they wait for the HR. Id rather score those 5 runs in the 1st and 2nd than those HR happened at all.

You people gots to remember

Every game, every team, you see stranded runners. All de time, friends. The important thing is the Yankees are getting chances, and when they’re getting chances, sooner or later they will score. When you worry is when they aren’t getting any bodies on the bases, and are down by a couple runs. That’s when the suck begins…

true.

and they came through in the end when it counted.

ITs really just pent up frustration from losing to the Angels. Game 2 looked eerily similar to the first game.

All teams leave runners on, the Angels did it too. But the missed opportunities in the 1st and 2nd bit the Yanks right in the cornhole.

That pitch that

was called ball four to walk Morales in the ninth was a strike as far as I’m concerned. It wound up not hurting us but to me that’s just a bad call. It had the corner and then some.

agree, but

that’s baseball for you. Calls like that happen in every game. Hell, Gaudin got a call or two that surprised me, but since the call went our way, I was all “Good eye, Ump!” even though I knew it probably wasn’t ;-)

Getting hot at the right time too

he’s had an unbelievable season considering whats happened to him. He’s not even playing 90%, and yet he still may finish with 30 home runs and 100 rbi. Pretty amazing. Keep it up in the playoffs Alex!
