ACE! As in Aceves...
Okay. I am panicking a little bit...
This whole 'stagger into the playoffs' is a little overblown but still makes me nervous. I think we can all agree that after Sabathia the rotation is a HUGE question mark. Burnett remains to be seen, Andy is old, Joba is sucky for some reason, and Gaudin and Mitre are suspicious.
So. I've said it before and I will try once again. Aceves. In the rotation. Now. Ian Kennedy coming up could be a huge boost for us but Aceves has some real starting potential. Last year in a start against the angels he pitched 7 innings of 1 run ball. We should at least see if he can still do it in the event that Burnett and/or Joba cant get it together. One real start, thats all I want. Then we can all go back to looking forward to #27.

Is Aceves cleared to go more than 4-5 innings?
He hasn’t been used much lately either. Not sure he could do it.
Kennedy is completely untested. I wouldn’t rely on him for anything other than maybe a few innings before he goes to fall leagues…

ive
said this from day 1 ont eh new joba rules
if u r goign to waste joba and aceves on the same day
then let them switch roles
let aceves throw 5-6 innings
and let joba be the long man
