Why does Skip Bayless hate the Yankees?

I was watching ESPN First and 10 this morning and the topic of discussion between Pate Forde and Skip Bayless was whether the Yankees are just that good or if they are living dangerously with 11 walk-off wins this season. Pat Forde said they are just that good noting the fact that the Yankees are 28 games over .500 and that the walk-offs have a trickle-down effect in the clubhouse which motivates each player to step up to the plate and come through in the clutch. Of course, Skip Bayless had to disagree and say otherwise. He started out by saying that he's been rooting agianst the Yankees all season and commented on how the Boston Red Sox swept the Tigers with two emergency starters, while the Yankees almost got swept by the Toronto Blue Jays. (Which doesn't make sense because they won game 2 in 9 innings and game 3 was the only walkoff.) Bayless said that the Yankees' walkoff wins are only indication that they are a lazy team that has a mindset that they will eventually win a game in which they're trailing in the late innings. Here are some of his recent Tweets on his Twitter page about the Yankees and Kevin Youkilis' suspension after the brawl with Rick Porcello:

The main point of this post is to really see if anyone can tell me why Skip Bayless hates the Yankees so much. He seems worse than any other ESPN personality out there...I've seen some Boston sports personalities give the Yankees more credit than Bayless. I read his biography online...he's from Oklahoma, not Boston. I just can't figure it out. I've never been a big fan of his anyways and I usually don't take any of his takes that seriously...just for what they're worth (next to nothing). After seeing his take on the Yankees today, I can't really see myself taking this moron any more seriously.

Skip Bayless hates life.
He constantly hates on Lebron, some of which I agree with (you aint the King until you win…….).
His Yankee hating is par for the course at ESPN. They’re all Pissant fans over there and it really hurts their credibility. The broadcasters and analysts (Jim Rice for one) over at NESN are less biased towards the Yankees and they know for a fact their entire fanbase hates them.
ESPN as a neutral sportscasting site, should be more neutral. The aren’t.
They just seem to hate NY. Of course they seem to hate the Giants even more now after 18-1 (Have to add that…..18-1, what a lovely record.)

Up until this season, I have always held the belief that ESPN is biased towards the Red Sox and hates the Yankees (and always finds ways to make them look bad). However, once the Yankees started to get going this year, it seems to me that ESPN is more of a bandwagon network rather than an agenda-driven one. For example, they were really big on the Red Sox back from 2004-2008 and now I have seen some hints of them liking the Yankees…I was especially surprised to hear some of the positive comments from Steve Phillips and others on the Baseball Tonight crew. They’re still gaga over the Patriots and Tommy Boy Brady and the only NHL team they like is the Penguins because of Sindey-Still Doesn’t Shave-Crosby. However, I agree with you completely that ESPN should first and foremost be a neutral station.
As for Skip Bayless, you’re right. He pretty much does seem to hate life. I’m sure he’d find a way to hate himself if he were in a debate about himself.
Oh yeah, about the Giants…you were probably loving it when they beat the Patriots in the Super Bowl and hearing Bayless cry. As for me, I’m a Bills fan and I’ve heard what Bayless thinks about T.O. so I’m just going to take it for what it’s worth as well while T.O. is up here in Buffalo. Besides…the Bills only signed him for a year anyways.

I gotta think that Skip Bayless doesn’t actually believe half of what he says. He just chooses an opinion that is against the grain, and vehemently defends it- because he knows it’s good TV, writing, etc.
There is no way a human being could be as contrary as him… maybe he’s not human… hmmm…

It appears that he plays the role of villain,just because. I heard him say on Monday he thinks Boston will still win the AL East! Boston doesn’t even believe that!

my humble advice is to not watch ESPN
the ‘talent’ doesn’t care about right, wrong or intelligent, just about bringing in viewers (which they equate with being controversial).
He can't admit he's wrong
He said earlier this season that the Yankees were not going to even be in the playoffs. He thought the Red Sox would win the division and the Rays the Wild Card, and that the Yankees would be a .500 team at best (which is pretty stupid considering last years team with one good starting pitcher won 89 games). Now, the Yankees are 5.5 games ahead of the Red Sox, and 10 games up on the Rays, and he STILL thinks the Red Sox will win the division. Has he even looked at the teams? The Yankees are BETTER! Better lineup, better rotation, better back end of the bullpen, better attitudes! He can’t admit it!
Skip Bayless may be the most biassed Red Sox fan I have EVER seen! He NEVER gives the Yankees credit at all. He watches the Yankees get swept this weekend, and then says “the Sox are cold”, but never once gave the Yankees pitching any credit. He holds a firm, ridiculous belief that the Yankees will never win with A-Rod on the team (someone explain that logic please?). I missed todays show (honestly, I’ve had enough of him. I’m not watching until the Yankees clinch the division, and then I want to hear what he says), but I saw yesterdays. And I heard him say that Kevin Youkilis should NOT be suspended! Explain that to me? The guy tackles the pitcher to the ground and chucks his helmet at him, and he shouldn’t be suspended? If A-Rod or Jeter charged the mound when they were plunked yesterday, he would have come out today and said they should be suspended for at least 10 games for violent actions! I guarantee it. But A-Rod and Jeter didn’t charge the mound. Why? Because they both have more class then Youkilis and aren’t going to lower themselves to those actions. They each sat in pain for a moment, and just took their base. They didn’t say anything to the pitcher. They took their base. And scored. A-Rod’s run won it. But if you say anything that says A-Rod or Jeter is better than Youkilis at anything? Bayless will go into another Biassed rant.
Skip is an idiot. He doesn’t know what he is talking about half the time and his doesn’t make sense. Well, at least there is some hope for him. I’ve seen him give Mariano Rivera credit before. But honestly, if you can’t praise Rivera then you shouldn’t even be talking sports, so maybe that doesn’t count. My advice? Ignore what he says. Just enjoy it when Rob Parker makes fun of him.
Why do so many people care what Skip Bayless says?
The guy is an idiot who says things just to be disagreeable.
The real problem here is that as long as people keep watching ESPN, Bayless will continue to have a forum.
Watch something else. TBS shows Saved by the Bell reruns during the morning hours, watch that instead.

Why do so many people care what Skip Bayless says?
Skip Bayless = Screech…just more annoying if that is possible.

Bayless Jealously
Skip Bayless is obviously a Yankee hater and it shows in his commentary. But, to accuse any MLB team of being lazy is just being ignorant. 162 game season and he doesn’t expect any nail biters to be played throughout the season regardless of who you may root for? There is good pitching in both leagues and even the best lineup in baseball is going to get stymied by a pitcher on any given day they play baseball. Also, there are things called heat, fatigue and bodily aches and pains of playing baseball in the summer. These things effect ALL MLB players and sometimes it takes players to pickup teammates when they’re having an off day. To have 11 walkoff wins only goes to show the grittiness of your favorite team to hang around long enough to win a game and not just throw in the towel.

I gave up on them a while ago.. While I watch ESPN.. there reporters are generally biased towards NY and the Yanks.. Simmons and Gammons alone might as well be carrying Sox Pom Poms .. Joe Morgan despises the Yanks from his Reds days.. Phillips is still bitter about NY in general and the fact that he was a failure as Mets GM …Bayless and the Hillbilly Football crew as I like to call them (although Cowherd can be intresting ) are soooo biased against NY.. I remember the SB a few yrs ago. looked like they were going to cry after the Giants punched Golden Boy Brady in the mouth and destroyed the Russell Crowe Commercial Patriots Perfect Season.. I traveled a lot and there is always a lot of hate against NY ,New Yorkers and their teams especially the Yankees .. The Giants have seen a lot of it recently as they hardly get any respect despite having a stacked team that goes to the playoffs every yr and is 2 yrs removed from the SB … As Frank Sinatra says to all the NY haters out there THOSE LITTLE TOWN BLUES… Cant wait to see Gammons cry when the Yanks win. this yr .. !!!

is a great reporter but pleasssssse …during the 96-00 run .. he looked like someone punched him in the face and smushed his Sawx cap in his face.. When Ortiz was outed .. I thought I saw tears …. and while he is a HOF reporter ..his bias towards Beantown is indisputable.. He gives credit to the Yanks because they have owned his team forever outside of the 04-07 run ..Btw for pure comedy check out any of the reports he gave after the Sawx lost in 03 after the Boone homerun and then contrast it to the reports in 04’ .. Its like 2 different people… and Simmons while a very good writer is completely retarded when it comes to his slant on Boston.. Having him write and report for ESPN would be like Osama Bin Laden commentating on the Israel /Palestine Peace talks ..Utterly ridiculous… !
Was he even watching?
First of all, unless he is an amazing actor, Porcello’s reaction indicates that it was accidental. Secondly, Youkilis was the one who got taken down. Did he just block out Youk being completely owned?
