Back to trade talk
So Jarrod Washburn is still available, but Seattle asked for Hughes or Joba. Cash said no. Now they're apparently looking at non-top prospects in the Yankees system. Jon Heyman says that means everyone but Jesus, Jackson and Romine. If we could get Washburn for a B prospect, I'd be all for it.
How about Zach McAllister or Melky Cabrera? Would you give up Z-Mac or Melky for two months of Washburn (who's a FA after the year)?
- A minor trade was made yesterday - the Yanks got Jason Hirsh from the Rockies for a PTBNL.

wow
they asked for Joba or Hughes for Washburn?
I don;t even think Id go with McAllister and definitely not Melky, unless the Yanks are sure AJAX is ready right now.
You keep Melky
Because he is clutch and because he is Robbies BFF.

no deal
i would however give them Kei Igawa, Cody Ransom, and Joe Girardi for Ichiro and King Felix
melky
the last thing I would want the yankees to do is dish out Melky. He has certainly has earned his position this season. Now that Gardener is out, Melky will play a larger role for the Yankees.
Washburn
For a commemorative “Inaugural Season” coffee cup, signed Jeter jersey and a promise to let them win a series next season.

indeed Zach is
it’s not a serious thing but it’s good to have him rest since he’s at or near his innings limit
i think he has potential though so im a little skeptical to trading him, but then again we all know how our last control-type highly regarded pitching prospect IPK turned out so idk
plus, Washburn is a flyball pitcher aided by having the best defensive outfield in the majors and Safeco field

Hirsh
Anytime you’ve got a chance to get a guy with a 6.66 ERA in AAA, you’ve got to take it.

I think they got him for strategic purposes
When they call up Igawa and people go nuts, Cashman will say “Do you want me to call up Hirsh? Because I swear to God, I’ll call up Hirsh!” Then people will have to back down. Cashman is a genius.

i agree
because the Yankees are the only team to play GOD Bless America every game and have a pitcher in AAA that has an ERA of 6.66, the Yankees will receive help from both God and Satan and possibly a representative from purgatory

No way to ZMac or Melky
Think Hinske type package. I don’t think you rush to trade Igawa at this point unless it’s the right deal. He may yet be needed but Igawa + filler would be OK. No one with much of a future can be included since all you’re getting is 2 months of an expensive overachiever that only plays 1 in 5 games.
Igawa?
Id trade Igawa for a box of Tapioca pudding. Not even the ready made shit. THe one you gotta stir for and hour and slave over. Id also buy the other stuff to make the pudding. Just the Tapioca granules is what Id trade Igawa for.

Well
it actually make some sense for the Ms, they have a large field that isn’t prone to the long ball and great Ofs. Kei Igawa have a chance of being servicable there. and in taking Igawa the Yankees would likely be more willing to dish out a extra prospect (or two)
If I were the Ms, maybe I ask for
Igawa+ Ramiro Pena + one of Zach Mcallister / Arody Vizciano / Dellin Betances / Manny Banuelos
c'mon now?
So the Yanks would give the M’s Igawa AND a better prospect? Id rather hang onto Igawa and let him rot in AAA.
If the M’s just take him as part of the deal, then OK. Maybe the Yanks pay a bit of his awful contract, but I wouldn’t sweeten the deal for them to take him.
