We have a problem in baseball, and it has 3 different legs.

I can't complain much because my team, the Yankees, are well over .500, but all in all, the season has been dissapointing.  Around this time last year, I was really interested in baseball.  Although the Yankees were hurting and it hurt to watch them, there were so many great stories.  The Rays came out of no where and took the league by storm.  The Cubs were running away with the NL Central and trade talks of Manny, Teixiera, and C.C. Sabathia were all rumored to be traded away.  Josh Hamilton was blasting home runs to far beyond the short porch at yankee stadium. And now this year, I find myself in disgust.  Although I enjoy the Yankees success, the season itself has been a letdown.  The template for the bad season at hand is composed of three things: the Cubs, the Rays, and Albert Pujols.  Before you scratch your head, let me explain myself.  First of all, I think that the Cubs are a huge letdown.  Lou Pinella, yes the hypocrytical coach that "doesn't believe in discipline", cannot take what he dishes.  He has been known for his embarressing rants on the field, but has no control over his clubhouse.  Lou, unless you want to keep replacing water coolers broken in rage by Milton Bradly and Carlos, I suggest that you start to "believe in discipline" and get your locker room in shape. Letdown #1.  Now the 2nd part of the letdown equation would have to be the Rays.  First of all, let me say that Joe Maddon does not seem right and looks like the Joe maddon 2 years ago when the rays where lingering at the bottom of the AL East aimlessly, with almost no upside or hope.  B.J. Upton's glove is still golden, but his bat seems broken.  He opts to give minimal effort and does not hit the ball as well as he is expected to so far.  Evan Longoria is good upside for the team, but David Price's situation was handled poorly and he should have been with the team for the whole season instead of being brought up.  The chemistry and benevolence that filled the Rays locker room last year ceases to exist.  Letdown #2.  Now for the last part...and that is the most surprising.  I have chosen Albert Pujols because he is an embarressment to baseball.  Albert must realize that we know he is on steroids.  First of all, he came out with a story before this season on how "he is clean" and said that all his numbers have and are stil legitimate.  Not only do I not believe this, but I am enraged by this.  He is now putting up his huge numbers that are all a fraud, and this is embarressing because he is just setting everyone up for the same thing we went through with Alex Rodriguez (my idol) and Manny Ramirez.  He is the false-hope that baseball needs to get through these dark times, and once we think that its all over,  Albert puljols will be there to come out and test positive for 'roids.  You know its going to happen, wether you wish to beleive it or not.  Shame on you!  Letdown #3.  Now our equation is complete, but lets mention the honorable mentions.  Alex Rodriguez is on the wall of shame for having some of the best numbers of his career forever tainted, and I can't help but think every time he steps on the plate of his steroid use and his lies, especially when he hits a home run.  And lets not forget the Mets, who were referred to on sportscenter earlier today as a comedy on the field.  The Mets are the Tigers of last year, a big dissapointment.  I think we need to inform Paws an Mr. Met that they wont be winning any world series' soon, especially with ESPN the Magazine picking them to win the World Series in consecutive years!

Albert Pujols?

Get out of here, this is such bullshit.

Strikeouts are boring- Besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls - it's more democratic.

Pujols

Is a monster and the best hitter I have ever seen in my life. The thing about Pujols is that he ALWAYS was a monster. He was ALWAYS huge. Because Pujols doesn’t play on the Yankees, Sox or Dodgers he doesn’t quite get the attention he deserves. I have never seen a man hit like him…. look at his numbers since his rookie year, no bad years. So unless you have proof you need to chill. If he gets caught than he is tarnished too, but I highly doubt this guy needs to take Centrum One-A-Day let alone PED to rake.

Pujols.......

hasn’t done steroids, HGH or anything and you’re calling him an embarrasment to baseball!! He isn’t like Rick Ankiel or someone who rose up out of the sand like Las Vegas, he has always been great and in my opinion is one of the best role models in baseball today.

Still don't go blindly accusing players

you can say a whole bunch of guys did it, from Pujols to Jeter to Ortiz to Varitek to whoever the hell you want.

Its too easy, but where’s the proof. How much of an asshole are people going to feel like if Roger Clemens really didn’t do roids?

If they got caught, go at them. But Pujols never did anything and there’s no proof. Until there is, keep your accusations to yourself. No one cares who you think is on roids.

so

So you can’t stand watching baseball because Pujols is tearing the cover off the ball (I think he might break B-Bonds’ record, but thats a whole different story), and because the Cubs and Rays are having down years? Sheesh, go watch curling…

Seriously, how bout you look at the amazing season that the Dodgers are having, Zach Greinke finally pitching well, and most importantly: The Yankees coming into form.

About Pujols though: I look at player’s mechanics a lot, pitching and hitting. Pujols has the best mechanics, by far, of any major league player. You think he’s hitting .336 because of roids? The league’s best hitter is finally fulfilling expectations, and you’re disgusted with baseball…

no, I just think that everyone will be crushed if they find out he is, which I think he is.

You can't say

Pujols is juicing just because he hits the ball a ton. Just like you can’t say Arod is juicing because he hits the ball a ton and he juiced before. Playing well is not a sympton of steroids. Barry Bonds’ gigantic head on the other hand…
