Sanchez and Foreign Players!

As expected, the Yankees have signed Dominican catcher Gary Sanchezaccording to Kiley McDaniel of Baseball Prospectus. Sanchez will receive a bonus of "basically $3MM," though the details aren't yet clear.

McDaniel hears that the Yankees will spend an additional $1MM on a shortstop and a pitcher. Damian Arredondo is expected to be the shortstop and some expect the pitcher to be Jose Osuna. If he signs, Arredondo would likely receive about $850k of the $1MM the Yankees are expected to spend on the pair of players.
[According to MLBTradeRumors.com] We already talked on this cite about the Cuban pitcher defecting.  This could be the bolt to our system we needed.  I am excited about having a farm system again.  What do you all think about the moves the Yankees have done?  Enough?  Or would you have rather seen Sano signed?  I am a Pirates fan too, so I am glad they will (hopefully!) get him, but I like what the Yanks got.

Im not gonna say Sano NEEDS to be signed

cuz Id actually like to see him go to the Pirates, they need some hope down there (Andrew McCutchen looks legit too…hopefully he’s not Barry Bonds in Pitt part 2.)

But Id like to see Sano end up with the Yanks of course. He seems the next big thing from over there.

I doubt it tho cuz this Sanchez kid (IM calling them ‘kids’ now…..I feel old :( they seem to have made their splash.

Yeah

My 2nd choice for Sano would be the Pirates. They have such a nice ballpark and pretty loyal fans but absolutely NOTHING to cheer for on the field. They need a pick me up.

Only if he is not to sign with the Yanks of course.

Strikeouts are boring- Besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls - it's more democratic.
