Nice place, Jeets!
The shots below are not of some gargantuan waterfront hotel. They are of the new home Derek Jeter is having built for himself in Tampa. Apparently, the economy has not hit the Yankee Captain too hard. The Tampa Tribune says the 30,000-square foot mansion is the biggest in Tampa.
I sure hope Jeets knows how to swim!

If I remember correctly, Jeter is building this with Cash. He’s not financing a penny.
You know, there are some players that get it, and there are some that don’t. Jeter is classy in everything he does.
Why is building with cash more classy than financing?

When you make 20 million per year, you should pay with cash. This seems to be more of an indication that Jeter manages his money well, as opposed to some other former superstars that run out of money and file for bankruptcy.
There's no truth to that
If Jeter has enough liquid cash on hand to entirely self-finance the project…fine. He could also very easily have his money tied up in investments. If his R.O.I. is higher than what he would pay in interest to finance, it could totally make sense to take out a mortgage.
Nice pile of bricks ya got there
Looks like a lot of rooms to christen with Minka Kelly.
