Well, that was ugly.

A.J. Burnett was terrible. The Yankees were lucky the didn't get no-hit by Josh Beckett.

Will the Yankees ever beat the Red Sox this season? It sure doesn't look like a fair fight so far this season.

We just have to cross our fingers and hope we see the Chien-Ming Wang of old tomorrow night.

Wow

I never would have thought they would go up to Boston and allow them to beat them down like that! Now you have not only to wonder about to tomorrow’s game b/c we still have no idea what Wang will show up but in the interim what the Yankees psyche is like. Being that they are competitors, I would hope they will put this loss behind them really fast and move forward and win tomorrow. Tomorrow is “gut check” time!

I'm growing a bit tired

of Burnett and his trotting out the same old excuses after every poor start. The pitch count tonight was just ridiculous, he simply couldn’t get anyone out. Always behind on the count and he couldn’t close the door. I’m reaching a point with him where I’d prefer to have him sit and let Hughes take a few starts from him until he can get his act together. This team is going to have to figure out a way to prevail against Boston, since IMO it’s going to be a two horse race this season.

I like to look on the positive side

Veras and Tomko were fittingly utilized as mop-ups and not culprits of the loss. I know…I know… It wasn’t a blow-out but Beckett was dealing hard tonight.

hughes

Has not had good starts against Redsox either…. maybe they should just skip Burnett next time he starts against Redsox..

the reason we wanted him over Lowe

was because of how he pitched against the Red Sox

this season is over

if the yanks can’t figure out boston…Burnett had 3-4 guys down 0-2 counts, he walked atleast 2 of them, and then gave up the homer to .200 Papi!!?? c’mon! guys like Nick Green beating us?? 9 hole Nick f*cking Green? Yeah Beckett was dealing, but my sister can deal too when she’s got a 6 spot on the board…+ WALKS, Burnett’s loss all the way, just like last time…he’s pitching with his head up his a$$

The Red Sox...

are set up perfectly for tonight too. After getting gassed by Beckett, now the Yanks have to deal with the knuckleball. I’m more disappointed in how un-competetive they were last night than the loss. That game was over as soon as Papi hit his homer. Beckett was not giving up anything. They do need to win one of these games, just so they know they can beat the Sox. It would be very ugly being 0-8 with Boston in early June. The onus is on A-Rod too. The Sox are going to pitch around Tex and make A-Rod prove he can hurt them. They’ve been grinding out wins pretty good the last few weeks, time to play with a little more urgency the next 2 nights, boys.
