Yankee Fans I need your approval. I want to switch over to the Empire, but being a former Met fan I need your approval.
I was a Met fan through the 70s and up until players like Piazza, Ventura and Zeile left. However, I am sick and tired of being a part of a garbage franchise. I feel that I need approval from some Yankee fans. So please, take me away from the joke that are the Mets. The Yankees are BASEBALL and are the greatest franchise in sports. So Lets go Yankees, beat Tampa tonight(If its not rained out)

well if you were a true new yankee fan...
you wouldve known the game is ppd already…sorry i just cant allow this dont deny that uve have envied us for years. Im sorry that your team’s owner, Stan Kroenke Fred Wilpon has made such a mockery of your team. Maybe one day Daniel Murphy will be even as good as Brett Gardner.

sorry...
I’ll never advocate switching teams like that.
Its not like I think its wrong, cuz many people who move away from home and live in a new state watch the local team and eventually become fans.
But still a true fans is one who sticks with their team through whatever is going on.

it doesn't happen over night
read ‘The Mick,’ watch ‘Pride of the Yankees,’ ‘61*,’ ‘The Babe,’ memorize all retired names and numbers + grasp an understanding of which players will soon join that list. Know how many pennants we have, WS titles and the years we won them. Sit with the bleacher creatures and ‘roll call’ our beloved pinstripes. Learn the lyrics to ‘ole Blue Eyes’ ‘New York, New York.’ Endure the drama of a world series game, and witness the ghosts that grace the greatest franchise in the history of world. AND THEN, AND ONLY THEN, will you become a Yankee fan, despite the lack of bloodline. Being part of the ‘empire’ is simply sporting a hat, if you want in on the fraternity that true Yankee fans enjoy, ALL OF THE ABOVE IS REQUIRED. anybody else have anything to add? lol

I converted in 1990...
When Darryl left. I was (and am) an unapologetic mark for Darryl Strawberry. (Which paid off in 1996 when he came back…)
I followed both teams before, but in ’90, at a young age, I dropped the Mets like a bad habit and never looked back.
So it can be done, but I picked them when they were awful. You not so much.
I subject you to be forced to listen to 144 hours straight of Michael Kay calling Yankees losses, and only then through this self-flagellation will you be considered an Yankees padawan learner.

NOPE
Don’t come looking to us for “approval”. You’re simply not allowed to switch. Stick with the Amazin’ Mets. And root for another Subway Series.

The REAL problem is Omar Minaya
which I guess Wilpon is responsible for hiring and has sinfully kept on board as Mets’ GM. I personally don’t care if you decide to switch allegiance. At heart, I’m baseball fan first and a Yankees fan second. As a fan since Don Mattingly came up, I’ve had to endure the abysmal Yankee teams of the 80’s and early 90’s. Your perseverance will eventually start paying dividends as the Mets will always remain “competitive”.

NO
Sorry, unless your 8 or younger, once you choose a team you have to stick with it. Noone likes a guy who switches teams.

Anyone over the age of 12 is not allowed to switch teams, especially within the same city, and you cannot support both teams, DON’T BE THAT GUY. you cannot support the Yanks and Mets or the Giants and Jets, anyone that does this is ridiculous and not a fan.

Too late for you now
There is no hope for you now… I will just prepare your future children to be Yankee fans and then you are allowed to chear for them (this does not make you a fan, just a supportive parent). It may be too late because you probably have kids now who are old enough to make this decision. So hope for grandchildren and show them the Yankees
