Is partying and Kate Hudson the reason A-Rod needs rest?

According to the New York Post, it's not surprising that New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez(notes) is feeling a bit sluggish — the wilting all-star was caught partying in South Beach with Hudson, his main squeeze, in the wee hours Saturday morning.

The Post nicknamed Rodriguez: "MIA-Rod.''

The Post also noted that keeping Rodriguez on the bench is expensive, $203,704.40 a game. Rodriguez was rested Friday and Saturday after his batting average slipped to .212.

The third baseman was seen leaving an exclusive party with the actress at around 2:30 a.m.

I can see why you bash the Yankees

constantly going with the opinion of the NY Post will always lead you to bash the Yankees, tho actually Im pretty sure that Daily News is quite the same.

I know people are jealous of the contract, don’t like A-Rod’s personality or of course now the roid thing…..who the hell really cares what the guy does in his spare time?

I have no problem with him nailing Kate Hudson, who the hell wouldn’t want to? I mean to me if he really is it may just make false my claim that he’s a fruit loop.

I mean you honestly think that ballplayers whether or not its a gameday go home and ice their arms everyday?
Im sure he’s done it in the past and whether or not his playing was enhanced, he still did the job.

WHO CARES WHAT HE DOES!

Today's game

It’s now the middle of the 8th in Miami and the Yanks have not had a baserunner since the 4th inning, and that was an infield hit!!!. Is it just more of those pitchers we have not seen or do we just plain and simple suck? I think the latter. Why Girardi still has faith in Tomko is beyond me. 2 two-out homers in successive innings. We look like shit. The hitters look like shit. All of them.

DISGRACE

i know chamblis76 gets it, what a year and hit from CC…talk about clutch performance!
changes are needed asap for this tea, trust me, you cant continue to play and look like this all year, you will be looking up at boston, TB and toronto also….

here is how it should unfold…fire joe, new coaching staff, matsui bye bye and work out the BP….get e dam CF, bring up AJ, posada full time DH……and have fun, prefer to see that roster

however...

70 games with heart is better than 80 games of BS and jogging to first, swinging at first picth after walks and quick 0-2 counts….time to go to SI Yankee games again

Arod

Didnt play friday and pinched hit on saturday and had a walk in which Jeter hit into DP. Either way the team as whole lost the game because no one could hit.. except into DP.. So how is Arod’s fault that they lost on Saturday?.. The dude had a day off he went out and got some.. Its the same thing anyone else would have done if they were dating Kate Hudson. Leave Arod alone.. maybe this could get him out of his funk..

again...

4 hitter hitting 2.15 or something and not driving in runs…i expect a player to take the game more serious and commit on and off the field, he is a bum, was a bum prior to coming over and a bum since he has been here….our list of proven primadonna’s…

winfield (1 for 21 or something in the 81 WS), jack clark (huge K and did nothing for us), arod (no WS yet and we were better off with Soriano)

proven losers

Cuz

Soriano’s batting higher than .220?

I agree, A-Rod has been an omen so far.

Its really amazing on how that 2004 AL champ series changes everyone’s outlook. I mean A-Rod was well on his way to absolving all talk on his not being clutch. Now? He’s worse than ever.

Still, Im glad its June cuz this is still fixable.

dude

the Guy is human. not a machine. 1 month ago he had surgery and walking with crutches.. what would you be doing if you had hip surgery? most likely sitting on your ass at home watching baseball or behind your computer posting this little stupid blog which we all knew by reading the paper. Right now everyone is not hitting so how is that Arod fault.

true

its one the thing that allows me to cope with all of this, its june…plenty of time and how many remotes can one man break?

by Captain Yank on Jun 22, 2009 9:41 AM EDT reply actions

please

The babe played a game once with a broken leg and hit two home runs, the mick had a dislocated shoulder and through out 2 runners at home, oh and did I mention went 3 for 4 in a game and lastly, Donnie baseball went 5 for 5 back in 87 after breaking 4 toes and playing 2 days later, so I am supposed to feel for this juicer making 500,000,000 per year and cruising the world hitting everything except a baseball (wink wink) because he had widdie biddie surgery and was crutches….please

It just doesn't look right...........

if he is outta the lineup for two games “fatigue” but leaves the club 2:30am or whatever it was. I care little for what they do off the field, I just want superior performance ON IT. LOSING JUST SUX!!!!!!!!
