Around SBN: Nevin Shapiro Vows To Bring Down Miami

Done

At best, they will be 82-80, team is a joke, team cannot bunt, cant execute hit and runs, cant play good D, cant manage, cant coach from either pitching or batters view, constantly fall into 0-2 counts, TOO MANY DP's, no clutch, broadcasters are horrible, radio and TV, GM is a piece of crap, cant get runners in from third with less than 2 out.

A prayer for every Yankee to lay down BUNTS -

Psalm 34:4 (New International Version)

 4 I sought the LORD, and he answered me;
he delivered me from all my fears.

Lay the F'n bat down Jeter and the rest of you overpaid morons!

Ofaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

oh and yes, happy fathers day to all dads, god bless!

Right. Because this team is overperforming right now.

if anything

jeter should be bunting less

"Hey Derek do you actually drive the Edge?","I don't drive that piece of crap!"

this team

the day they learn to win games by doing the small things is the day they take their game to the next level and compete with the best

they are not there yet
i am hard on them for years, i expect a WS every year, of course i know its a hard road but this team was built for a WS this year and obviously the coaching staff cannot handle this, prepare for it…rookie pitchers beating us, who’s fault is that, EILAND, inconsistent offense, LONG…and just poor plan and decisions, Joe G…..

tell me you dont like me, tell me you dont like my f’n tie, tell me you dont like the style of my hair but dont tell me you cant bunt, get the f’ out of here….one line says it all..THE MICK BUNTED, he was a winner, when this team understands the concept of team play, teamwork and sacrafice, and i am not talking about pies in the face or pool, i am talking about passion, desire and laying everything out there, that is when they will win consistently!

bada bing!

OK BYE!!

Don’t let the door hit you.

And don’t come back either when the team does good.

You're on the wrong website.

“And, Lo, the Lord stood before Moses and said “thus I sayeth unto thee; thou shall remember the Sabbath and honor it by sacrfice bunting and go first to third frequently”.

What is the fascination with bunting? When you have a team that collectively slugs .450, it’s pointless.

by 3460kuri on Jun 21, 2009 11:32 AM EDT reply actions

you just dont get

and never will…its the HR or nothing generation, your loss and enjoy the 82-80 season

by Captain Yank on Jun 21, 2009 12:03 PM EDT reply actions

no one's asking for a HR

I mean, its really not like Johnny Damon didn’t have a runner on third then struck out to end the game right?

Base hit. All that’s needed. Jeter is still one of the better hitters on the team right? I mean if they had Brett gardner up and tried to swing away, then there’s a beef there.

You don’t bunt with Derek Jeter at the plate. Does bunting make sense to move the runners up? Of course! But when you have a guy like Jeter at the plate, you don’t bunt and give him up as an out.

Cuz what if you bunt him then Damon strikes out, then Tex does nothing too? Then you blame Girardi of course for not knowing how to manage in pressure situations? Well, of course you do.

by FreeBradshaw on Jun 21, 2009 12:49 PM EDT up reply actions

totally disagree

you bunt with jeter at that plate 10 out of 10 times in that situation

he had the sign but failed to do so, that is the bottom line, team is not disciplined, they rush counts, how many times are we 0-2, i have followed them for over 40 years now, never seen a team with this much talent and have no discipline

by Captain Yank on Jun 21, 2009 1:21 PM EDT reply actions

Jeter did bunt...

Jeter actually did bunt on the 2nd strike but he bunted it foul. It happens. He’s one of the best bunters in baseball but nobody is 100%. Jeter usually bunts in situations where he shouldn’t, not the other way around so I don’t get the criticism here.

by Let's Talk About Tex Baby on Jun 21, 2009 1:25 PM EDT reply actions

all i am saying is....

of all people, and i knew tried to bunt on the first pitch

there is no excuse for missing that bunt and he swung away on the next attempt

unacceptable

by Captain Yank on Jun 21, 2009 1:33 PM EDT reply actions

....from last night's post game....

Asked to bunt, Derek Jeter twice could not lay a sacrifice down the line. And with two strikes, he grounded weakly up the middle for a double play. Business hours were over.

“I didn’t execute, that’s the bottom line,” Jeter said. “It was a big part of the game, and I didn’t get the bunt down.”

For the fourth time in eight days, the Yankees lost to a pitcher they had never previously faced. But Johnson was not like the others. A potential National League Cy Young Award candidate, Johnson has added a few ticks to his fastball and a bit of movement to his changeup since Girardi managed him with the Marlins in 2006.

Equally frustrated!

It is absolutely frustrating! It’s nice that the Yanks are not losing the games by a lot of runs. They’re hanging in there. The problem is that they are barely hanging in against garbage a%$ teams. The Nationals? Come on! Aren’t they a AA team at best? Things need to change a little. Maybe moving guys over via bunting isn’t such a bad idea.

by Michael Robles voice on Jun 21, 2009 7:11 PM EDT reply actions

point is...

when a team can play and win small ball games, the big hits come…until they can do this they will win 5, loose 7, win 4 loose 7…see the trend….

by Captain Yank on Jun 21, 2009 7:45 PM EDT reply actions

I can admit

it was and is an ugly time to be a Yankees fan, but if you guys remember we didn’t look so hot the first half of 2000 either. I know it was nine years ago, but I’m just sayin’

by ReggieARodJeter on Jun 22, 2009 6:23 PM EDT reply actions

and to my man Cpt. Yank

don’t turn in your interlocked NY yet……….I refuse to believe we are done. If these past 12 games(4-8) have not been a wake up call, then I don’t know what is.
