Around SBN: The Week In Worst: When Baseball Goes Wrong

Do we miss Joe Torre?

He sure is doing a job with the Dodgers!  I was all for Girardi, but am wondering now.  He pulled Sabathia once last week too late, and the Yankees lost that game.

Pitching is still a problem for sure.  I think Sabathia has been fine, but even Petitte seems to be struggling.   The best acquisitions have been Sabathia, Texeira, and Swisher(which really surprised me!, White Sox could sure use him)   And now there is talk of Pedro Martinez?  I hope not, I think that would be a waste of money.

bamboozled

we have been sold a lemon with joe, bullpen or not and i know he can hit for them, this coaching staff is lost, inexperienced and second guessing all year…its going to be a loooooong summer

who’s available?
cone for pitching coach, tino hitting and the new mgr……pena, i know he has some passion and would not tolerate this BS, watch his reactions sometimes when cano jogs to first, or we walk 2 in a row or even better we fail to get the unner in from third with less than 2 outs, that is what i want to see, no taking crap from bush play

Girardi

remins me of dent as a manager – flat as a manager ut was a clutch hitter

Girardi is a fine manager. He makes very good game decisions. It’s not his fault that half our team was injured in the beginning of the year, that A-Rod is hitting .210, and that CMW has an ERA above 10.

no but...

its his responsibility to make sure CMW was ready, that AROD rests and BUNT runners over when the opportunity presents itself, stop swining all the time….i know we are only three games but nady, marte and molina are not answers….the outfield is a mess and matsui home overlooking mt fugi by now

circa 1983?

Steinbrenner circa 1983 may have fired Girardi by now, but how many World Series’ did the Yankees win circa 1983?

It makes no sense to feed the simple minded who want the manager fired. Im sure at somepoint during their champ. run in the late 90’s Steinbrenner was THIS close to firing Torre.

It doesn’t make sense to fire a manager in midseason. I know you look at the Rockies and its working there, but I really doubt it works with the Yanks.

Give Girardi until playoff time then lets worry about his status. You fire him now, you probably give up the season. This was the guy everyone wanted as the coach. THIS is the guy people were saying to get rid of Torre for.

I mean who the hell thought Terry Francona would be the manager he is? You have to let the guy grow. Bringing in Mattingly is not gonna help either, cuz he’ll do the same stuff and then people will want him fired.

Fire Girardi

If cash had the balls to fire Girardi and let Pena interim this team would get tough in a hurry.God I hope it happens

I hate Girardi

Girardi is the worst coach in the MLB by far. He won Coach of the year with the Marlins and than got fired, (shows how much he is liked). I would get rid of him a.s.a.p. Its not just him but the coaches he brings with him. Yes Pena is a good coach and i would love to see him stick around but the otheer guys are ridicolous. I honestly think my grandpa could do a better job coaching then some of these guys. Who are they, you honestly think that the Yankees pitchers listen to EILIAND over the likes of Ron Guidry? All i kno is if Giardi goes, this team is going 2 get hott quick and become a much better team. Lets hope Cashman has the balls to go for it
