News round-up
Catching up on some Yankee news:
- Joe Torre blames 'Everyday' Scottie for his season-ending elbow injury. Really, Joe?
- Selena Robert's book on A-Rod isn't selling.
- The top international free agent, Miguel Angel Sano, will work out at the Yankees' Dominican complex next week, according to his agent (so take that with a grain of salt). His agent also said: "He has a Hanley Ramirez body and the possible upside of an Albert Pujols-type bat." Oh, agents... The reported finalists in the Sano sweepstakes are the Indians, Pirates and Yankees - so if the Yanks truly want him, they'll get him. (h/t to WW)

does anybody know
the true upside of this player?
because comparing him to Hanley and Albert is just ridiculous
I don't know that
you compare a 16 Y/O to Hanley or Pujols, but even agents aside this guy is supposedly the next best thing from the Dominican.
Michael Inoa, the 16 y/o pitcher from last year, had much less hype and really hasn’t really shown anything to break the idea that he’s the next Felix Hernandez.
I don’t know if Sano’s the real deal, but given tha Inoa (or Ynoa….) is the real deal and the Yankees missed out on him (they offered but he chose the A’s cuz of their pitching development…good choice!), Id say the Yanks should break the bank on him if possible.
Ynoa's had
minor injuries that have kept him out of pro-ball so far. what happened is he had a verbal agreement with the Yanks, but then broke it when the A’s offered more. the Yanks refused to get back into the bidding for him bc they were soured.
there’s video of Sano where (to me) he looks extremely smooth defensively, especially considering his supposed age.
Horrible!!!!!!!
Yankees pitching is just completely pathetic right now. Everyone except CC is going 3-2 to almost every hitter, pitching themselves into trouble and giving up too many runs….. at what point do we start to blame Dave Eiland???? These guys are better than that!!
