Another walk-off win: Yankees 6, Twins 4 (11 innings)

This is getting to be a habit I am not minding at all.

Yanks need to play basic ball!

As much as I’m enjoying the walk-off wins I’d still would like the Yanks play some basic Baseball.

No doubt, those late inning big flys are exciting, but if they played more basic ball through out the game they’d win a few laughers. Case in point the Friday night game when the new catcher Kevin Cash led off an inning with Double and Jeter, Damon and Tex couldn’t get him home. When your 9th batter in the lineup leads off with a 2 bagger you you just gotta get him home.

Again the big flys are exciting but I’d like to see more Single, move him over and single him in. It’s not as exciting but it wins more games.

hit the cutoff man

And throw that go ahead run out at the plate

If I's known I was going to live so long, I'd have taken better care of myself. Casey

It is only me or are others

growing really tired of Pete Abe and his constant crusade against A-Rod?

“His range at third base has been limited, too. That you expect given the nature of his injury. But you have to wonder whether the lack of offense is attributable to the injury, being rusty or something else.”

Wonder what he is inferring by “something else”? Starting to think he belongs in the same journalistic league as Serena Roberts. And check out his post regarding the “ethics of cheering”, wondered if he shared those same sentiments when his idol Belichick was busted. Probably not. His blog is rapidly becoming as big of a joke as his comments section.

Completely ignore Pete Abraham and

you will become a more intelligent individual, as reading his articles lowers one’s IQ, much like reading/believing Serena Roberts or listening to Suzyn Waldman speak.

Pride, Power, Pinstripes...Go Yankees!

me too

I try to stay away from his site now. There is just way too much negativity there. He seems to forget that the game is supposed to be fun and not an outlet for his personal psychological issues.

It's official: The Yankees are on a winning streak

However, Veras walking every first batter he faces is becoming routine and making me want to throw up.

grit, pitching, uh, pitching

Joe Girardi: “Pitching is where it all starts” (AP 5/18). Grit, too. By winning today, the team took its third straight series. Safe it to say, I think the Y’s have bottomed out from whatever malaise was battering their confidence. Credit Girardi, Damon, Brett Gardner, Frankie Cervelli are making a positive impact, and their nimbleness and hustle makes this team disruptive on the bases. Brett Gardner is naturally suited to lead off, the best since Chuck Nob. Good to see Tex beginning to fill Tino’s old shoes, Great acquisition. They appear to be coming together as a team, that crucial something that they’ve been criticized for lacking over the past six seasons. Watch out, you-know-who.

Oh yeh, ah, I criticized A-Rod’s lack of hustle in the Baltimore series on this SB. Was I wrong.
Paul O’Neill, Davey Cone, et al say so, via YES: A-Rod’s recovery is still in progress. "A-Rod really can’t run yet (isn’t supposed to be running, anyway)

I realize Alex won’t get fair play until the Yankees win a championship with him. That’s OK.
Did you see Fox’s Bill O’Reily and Donald Trump kibitzing on Friday night in some of the more exalted sections of seating near the field. In NY, it’s all about money.
