Selena Roberts talks A-Rod

If you're still interested in reading about Selena Roberts and her allegations against Alex Rodriguez (I'm not), this is for you.If you don't care, just skip over it.

Roberts was on the Dan Patrick Show Thursday (yes, DP still has a career). The audio is here. You have to wade through some other stuff, but it's there after the Cris Collinsworth stuff.

SportsRadioInterviews has much of what Roberts said.

Parasitic bitch

I love how the release of the book is now timed with his return to the Yankees. I love that her opinions are sort of being masqueraded as facts because of “sources”. Hell, she could be talking to former HS teammates that hate him because he made it to the bigs. Now the pitch tipping. If A-Rod did this, and was not caught in Texas that either A) The Texas organization is the dumbest group in the majors OR the most unscrupulous B) Selena is the greatest investigative sports journalist in the 21st century. Or of course A-Rod didn’t do this and this woman is cashing in HARD. I can’t stand A-Rod. I miss Scott Brosius, hell I would be happy with getting rid of Damon, signing Holiday and letting Pena play 3rd. BUT, we are stuck with A-Rod. He is an ass and most of the strife he is put through is his own doing. But this is just sleazy.

wait and see

with a-rod’s track record of half-truths and downright lies i wouldn’t discount roberts so quickly…but honestly who can blame her? if she didn’t write this story someone else would. it’s a big name, big time lies, big time deception and that makes for big time buzz. and also i don’t buy this conspiracy theory that the book was timed to come out once he returned to the yankees until someone reveals hard evidence that the publishers waited to release it. and as far as your comment about texas happylucky, i don’t trust anyone from there…they’re too busy trying to secede and pump out successful presidents (sarcasm)

Doesn’t take a genius to figure it out man.

I cannot imagine A-Rod getting caught with the pitch tipping. Of course I am sure as I type this every single game A-Rod played in is being studied to see if they can pick up any signals to the batters. If A-Rod IS caught. He will be banished from the game and get to hang out with his buddy Pete Rose AAAAND we get all that money to sign Holiday and or Halladay. You know what. I would be fine with that.

there’s a huge – HUGE- contingent of fans that when it comes to a-rod just want to move on, stop seeing the past dredged up, and deal with the business of today’s game. even someone interested in this hatchet job has to question its credibility based on the strategic " " “leaks” " " to the press. they used to say people will say anything to sell newspapers – well, that axiom works for books too. when roberts prints details that are so ticky-tack and gossipy like a-rod having a clubhouse attendant apply the toothpaste to his brush, SHE’S the one who looks pathetic and desperate, not him.

I would normally agree

But with A-Rod, moving on just means moving on to another stupid self created media circus to distract the rest of the team over. I mean how many dumb moves can someone like A-Rod make? Would it SHOCK me if A-Rod was tipping pitches? No actually. But then again I am not a baseball player and not sure if this is not an unwritten rule for players trying to bust out of slumps.

agree – i don’t mean move on if that means moving on to the next foot in mouth incident, drug revelation, etc. i mean getting back to playing the game, but i get your point: it seems a-rod has a problem himself moving on and is always getting in his own way. a struggling and trying to remain valid press corps will always go after the next a-rod reveal, particularly with bonds out of the game, and a-rod doesn’t seem able to be anybody other than himself.

Which would be fine

If he brought some more rings to the Bronx.

Selena Roberts isn't any more credible than A-Rod

I wrote a lengthy post about her on my blog yesterday, the woman has no problem bending or flat out ignoring the truth to promote her agenda…

The "pitch tipping" is a real strong accusation...

I mean what kind of consciousless, self centered, fragile, greedy, clown would ever do something like that. (reflects on Arod) ….well I want proof!!!! Seriously, of all players in mlb who would ever do something like tipping pitches to opposing players in return for the same, I’d put Arod at or near the top of the list. Perhaps, Roberts is just capitalizing on his unscrupulous reputation, but I am less than shocked. I do think its pure scumbaggery for whatever player would practice such behavior and they deserve to ostracized from the game asap.
