Notes on First trip to new Stadium

Went to first game at thr new stadium on 04/21/09.  The tickets were courtsey of my wife the Met fan as a birthday gift.  We thoroughly enjoyed the trip.  Got there shortly after gates opened. It is very easy to get around the stadium.  The wider concourses were fantastic.  The ease of accessing even the upper deck is fantastic.  The food choices are overwhelming.  I loved the main hall and the wall dedicated to Yankee winners of the AL  MVP.  The entire stadium experience is outstanding.  We were asked "May I help you?" so often that I thought I was back in the South.  The customer service attitude has increased exponetionally.  I know I'll be going back.  I have photos, now I just gotta figure out how to upload them from our computer to the site.

Yes, folks everything is overpriced at the concession stands.  That is true at any sports venue in the country.  $19.00  for parking is up from last year, but it is not that far out of line for parking in a garage anywhere else in NYC.

question

does it seem like there is too much to do at the stadium other than watching the game? when i hear about all the amenities, food choices, etc…i feel like i would have to choose between enjoying the game and experiencing the stadium frills… i assume there are long lines for everything or is that under control?

The only

long line I saw was for the Yankee Museum. We got there early just to take in the amenities, but when the game started we watched the game. I did not worry about the line to the museum because I live in NYC and can go back again. If one is coming in from out of town, then get there as soon as gates open. That gives you three hours to check out the stadium. The things to see if you can only get there once in a great while would be the Museum and monument park. I plan to go sometime when the team is out of town and take the stadium tour.

Pictures

Put them on a webite, I use photobucket, but others use utube etc. That will give you a URL and you can link to it using the button on the website while you write your piece.

Good luck, I’d like to see them.

If I's known I was going to live so long, I'd have taken better care of myself. Casey

Boycott

The Yankees screwed the average American of being able to take their familes to a ball game and this guy has the nerve to talk as if its ok because everyone else is doing it. Every sports venue is raising prices to the point where the average American is being left out in the cold and this guy comes here to post how great the Yankees are….what a joke!
