First trip to the new Stadium

So, this came out of the blue. I wasn't expecting it, but Friday I scored myself a couple of seats to today's game against Cleveland (or, I should say my wife scored them for me).

I'm pumped about getting my first look at the new Stadium and I will be sure to let you guys know what I think of the place.

I'll be in Section 107 sitting next to a teen-ager wearing a Cleveland Indians cap (yes, my teen-ager). Don't ask how he got to be an Indians' fan -- it's not my fault! If we're lucky, we'll catch a home run ball, although maybe the Yanks wasted all their home runs on Friday.

Oh, and my presence at the game is sure to unnerve my daughter, who e-mailed the other day to say she is going on Saturday with a friend. Poor girl is going to be surprised when I call her from my seat and tell her to meet us somewhere inside the Stadium!

I will be at the game on the next Tuesday, I don’t know why i just prefer night games. Also will be sitting one section over from where you are so with the yanks of late and for that ballpark for that matter HRs like that RF area. Go Yanks !!

Actually

I am amazed that my daughter is a baseball fan at all. Last season was the first time she ever went to a game. My dad was an Indian fan (he wanted to root for someone other than the Yankees) and he passed that on to my son, who loves to do stuff just to annoy me. In football I love the Giants, so he became a Patriots fan just to bug me. Other than his choice of teams to root for, he’s a great kid!
