A-Rod is back at it ...

Alex Rodriguez went back to work on a baseball field today. And, in typical Rodriguez style, said something that will probably come out wrong.

From Peter Abraham, comes this Rodriguez gem.

Alex said that the time he spent in Colorado have him time to think that he has recommitted himself to baseball and the Yankees and plans to have “tunnel vision.”

Geesh! Sure is nice to know that with a 10-year contract and a few hundred million dollars in his pocket, the Yankees' best player was not totally committed to helping his team. Thanks, Alex.

Only nine more years!

Me, too

Have we had enough of Cody Ransom yet?

The New York Media

really doesn’t help him either.

In his defense

he is saying this because the front office had a talk with him and total him to put a lid on his off-the-field activities and that’s what he’s talking about. I hope he’s telling the truth and it can only help him with the NY media if he doesn’t have to answer questions about Madonna too.

True, pot

You just know that most anything he says these days can come out wrong, and this one is certainly open to interpretation. I just want the guy to come back and smash the snot out of the ball for 140 games.

reading too much into it

He probably could have phrased his thoughts better, but does anyone really think he isn’t working hard? I thought the one thing that even his most vocal critics agree upon is that Rodriguez works as hard as anyone in the game. I think the “tunnel vision” thing just means that he’s going to try to minimize the off-field distractions.

Hope you're right

He just needs to hit and shut up.

Pete Flabby Abs is nothing but a cheap shot artist when it comes to Rodriguez. So I don’t even bother reading him anymore.

a-rod blows

honestly, i hope a-rod re injures himself and cody ransom gets to play the full season. that kid wil play with more fire and heart than a-rod ever could.

new here

who are you peter must be a met fan ?
yankee hater?
what has jeter done for this team since arod got here ?
Nothing he is so jealous of arod and mark my word they will not get a ring because thats all jeter has over arod is rngs.
arod is a better hitter than jeter
better short stop than jeter
and all around player then jeter

and jeter knows this
and as long as jeter hits infront of arod jeter will make sure arods RBIs go down.

Please, hit the road

If this is the kind of hateful, nonsensical stuff you are going to post here you won’t be around for long. Contribute something with some thought and intelligence and you can stay. Otherwise, hit the road and go troll on someone else’s site.

not meaning to sound hateful

i just dont think a-rod has it. he only cares about himself, and he chokes deluxe in the postseason. yes hes good…when he wants to be. other than that, hes just playing by numbers, going through the motions. no, ransom isnt the best 3rd baseman, but like i said earlier, he plays with alot more heart, and that can go a long way. this team was great without arod, and it will continue to be. the team wouldnt miss him.

How much heart do you need to make up for a .154 OBP and .125 SLG??
